DFBポカール2回戦の8試合が10月31日にドイツ各地で行われた。

前回王者のRBライプツィヒは、アウェイでヴォルフスブルクと対戦し1-0で敗戦した。試合が動いたのは14分、トマスのスルーパスでボックス中央左から侵入したチェルニーがゴール左にシュートを突き刺し、ヴォルフスブルクが先制した。

1点のビハインドで後半を迎えたライプツィヒは、後半開始早々の48分にチャンス。ボックス左でボールを受けたラウムのクロスが相手DFにディフレクトすると、ゴールに向かったボールが左ポストを直撃した。
良い入りを見せたライプツィヒだったが、56分に中盤でボールを失いかけたY・ポウルセンがこぼれ球に反応したスヴァンベリをスライディングタックルで倒すと、この試合2枚目のイエローカードで退場処分となった。

数的不利となったライプツィヒは、何度か反撃の場面を見せたが最後までヴォルフスブルクの牙城を崩せず。そのまま0-1で敗戦し2回戦敗退となった。
また、板倉滉の所属するボルシアMGはホームでハイデンハイムと対戦。ボルシアMGは開始早々の3分、左CKを中央に走り込んだジョーダンが合わせると、ゴール前のピアリンジャーにディフレクトしたボールがそのままゴールに吸い込まれた。

幸先良く先制したボルシアMGは、9分にもボックス右でボールを受けたエングムが強引な仕掛けたから折り返しを供給すると、ゴール前のジョーダンが押し込んで追加点。さらに44分には、ネッツの左クロスをからハックがヘディングシュートでゴール右隅に流し込んだ。

3点リードで後半を迎えたボルシアMGは、78分にベックのゴールで1点を返されたが、3-1で逃げ切り3回戦進出を決めた。なお、板倉はケガのため欠場している。

その他の日本人所属チームでは、伊藤洋輝と原口元気の所属するシュツットガルトはホームでウニオン・ベルリンと対戦し1-0で勝利。田中碧や内野貴史、アペルカンプ真大の所属するデュッセルドルフ(2部)はアウェイでウンターハヒンク(3部)と対戦し6-3で勝利。上月壮一郎の所属するシャルケ(2部)はアウェイでザンクトパウリ(2部)と対戦し1-2で敗戦。水多海斗の所属するビーレフェルト(3部)はホームでハンブルガーSVと対戦し1-1で迎えたPK戦の末に3-4で敗戦した。

日本サッカー協会(JFA)が公式YouTubeチャンネルで日本代表の裏側を伝える「Team Cam」を更新。日本代表DF板倉滉(ボルシアMG)と日本代表DF中山雄太(ハダースフィールド・タウン)の対談の様子を伝えている。 中山は2022年、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のメンバーに招集されたものの、その日にアキレス腱断裂という悲劇に遭い、W杯出場が叶わなかった。 今シーズンに入ってから実戦に復帰すると、ハダースフィールドでは9月に入ってから定位置を奪取。ここまでチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)6試合に出場し、10月の日本代表メンバーに復帰していた。 その中山は、リハビリ中の5月に一度自身のインスタグラムを更新。トレーニングの様子を伝えていたが、明らかに巨大化したガタイが話題となったことがあった。 そんな中山のガタイとリハビリ期間について、板倉は「1回出た写真えぐい肩幅のラガーマンみたいな中山雄太がいて、それについてまずはね」と冗談交じりに振ると、中山はリハビリ期間について振り返った。 「意図的にケガの経過を知らせる選手も結構いるけど、俺はもうしないと決めていて。過ごしていた時間はリハビリもしかり、サッカー以外のこともケガせずプレーしていたらできないこともいろいろ取り組もうと思っていた期間だった」 「サッカー選手としてより強くなって帰ってくるっていうのもそうだし、人として成長して帰ってきたいなと思って過ごしていた期間だったから一切苦しい時間がなかった」 「(その期間は)本をめちゃくちゃ読んだり、常に成長じゃないけど何か自分に取り入れられるものないかなって読み始めることが多かった」 「ケガを治すっていうのは当たり前だし、治すというよりも進化して帰るのが前提だったからこそ、今できることはいっぱいあって、良くも悪くも復帰した時に分かるから。(筋量アップも)楽しい毎日だったからこそ。チームのスタッフにも今日はリハビリしたくないとかなかったのと聞かれたけど、一切なかった」 「でもやっぱり、一人で頑張っていたわけじゃなくて、本当に応援してくれた人もいるし、滉とかも連絡してくれるし、それがあるのとないのとでは(違う)。楽しくやれてた要因はそこなのかなと思って。だからありがたいし、本当に楽しかったって思えちゃいますね」 また、中山は離脱当時のファンやサポーターからの心配のコメントについても言及。W杯当時の心境や今の気持ちについても語った。 「(ファンのコメントは)マジで嬉しいし、W杯に関しては嬉しいを通り越して申し訳ないが勝ったっす。俺だけのワールドカップじゃなかったんだなと思うし、周りの期待を裏切っちゃったんだなと考えると申し訳なかった」 「でも今があるのはその思いが紡いできたので、俺はどうしようかって言ったら元気な姿をもう1回見せるしかない。頑張ろう。それでまたみんなが応援してくれる。元気にやれるし楽しくやれる。すごい素敵なサイクルをもらったっす」 長期離脱を経てさらに進化して戻ってきた中山。左サイドバックの主力としての期待もあるなか、久々の日本代表でどんなパフォーマンスを見せてくれるだろうか。 <span class="paragraph-title">【写真】板倉もビックリ!話題となった中山のガタイ</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink="https://www.instagram.com/p/CsQwOmCMWjH/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" data-instgrm-version="14" style=" background:#FFF; 日本代表でまさかの“似顔絵対決”が開幕!?長友、板倉、南野、堂安の中で最も絵心があったのは?

日本代表森保監督欧州視察ドイツ編、4会場からの写真公開「既に準備は始まっている」

ライプツィヒ未デビューのショボスライ、2026年まで契約延長

ライプツィヒは19日、ハンガリー代表MFドミニク・ショボスライ(20)と2026年6月まで契約を延長したことを発表した。今年1月にザルツブルクから加入した際の契約から1年更新した格好だ。 ザルツブルクやハンガリー代表でインパクトを残し、2000万ユーロの移籍金でライプツィヒに加入したショボスライだったが、内転筋を痛めて長期離脱し、ライプツィヒでのデビューはお預けとなっている。 ただ、先週からチームトレーニングに復帰しており、ユーロ2020に向けたハンガリー代表のメンバーに含まれ、本大会での出場が期待されている。 加入から半年で契約延長に至ったショボスライは公式サイトで以下のようにコメントしている。 ｢ライプツィヒでの最初の半年はイメージしていたものとは違った。シーズン後半、チームの助けになることが目的だったが、うまく行かなかった。ただ、ケガは治ったし、新シーズンに向けては完全な状態で臨める。死に物狂いでやるよ。加入当初から困難な状況にあった僕をクラブは全面的にサポートしてくれた。そしてこんな状況でクラブは契約延長をしてくれた。クラブと共に成功したいと強く思っているよ｣ 2021.05.20 00:00 Thu

プレミア勢からの関心受けるシマカン、約115億円の契約解除条項が存在か

ラングニックが弟子ナーゲルスマンのスパーズ行きに「エキサイティングな物語りになりうる」
