エイブラハムは不要! アグボンラホール氏が古巣ビラに提言「ワトキンスのほうがいい」

元アストン・ビラFWのガブリエル・アグボンラホール氏が古巣が獲得を目指すローマのイングランド代表FWタミー・エイブラハム(25)に厳しい評価を下した。

エイブラハムはチェルシーの下部組織出身。2019-20シーズンにはプレミアリーグで15得点を叩き出すなどエース級の働きを見せたが、その後の大型補強の煽りを受けて2021年8月にローマへと完全移籍した。

ローマ1年目の昨季は公式戦53試合に出場し、27ゴール。しかし、迎えた今季はここまで39試合で7ゴールと得点ペースが大幅に下がっており、2023年に入ってからはセリエAの1ゴールのみという惨状だ。

そんなエイブラハムの今夏獲得を目指しているのがアストン・ビラ。アグボンラホール氏はイギリス『フットボール・インサイダー』のインタビューで、エイブラハムの獲得は不要と古巣に提言している。

「エイブラハムのことは好きだよ。正統派のストライカーではあるが、今季のローマでは勢いを失っているね。彼がアストン・ビラの解決策になるとは思えない。すでにデュランがいて、ワトキンスはトップストライカーだ」

アストン・ビラには先月の日本代表戦でゴールを決めた新進気鋭のコロンビア代表FWジョン・デュラン(19)、今季のプレミアリーグで11得点をマークするイングランド人FWオリー・ワトキンス(27)が在籍。この2人がいる限り、エイブラハムは不要だという。

「エイブラハムは全てのチャンスを仕留められるわけではない。ワトキンスのアップグレードとは言い難いし、彼のようにワイドに開いてプレーすることも得意ではない。今年の夏に獲得するべきは、より強靭なFWだ」

なお、エイブラハムは最大3500万ポンド(約57億1000万円)で獲得可能とされている。

「寄せすぎ」「コピーだ」アストン・ビラの新エンブレムがチェルシーに酷似?実は過去のデザインを踏襲したもの

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ
