ウェストハムに所属するFWマイケル・アントニオ(30)がジャマイカ代表でのプレーを選択するようだ。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が報じている。
ジャマイカ出身の両親の下、ロンドンで生まれ育ったアントニオは、これまでサム・アラダイス前監督、ガレス・サウスゲイト現監督の下でイングランド代表の招集経験はあるものの、これまでデビューを果たすことができていない。
そして、今月のインターナショナルマッチウィークが迫る中、アントニオは先月からアプローチを受けている両親の母国であるジャマイカ代表でプレーすることを決断したようだ。
現在、イングランド代表ではFWタミー・エイブラハム、FWダニー・イングス、FWカラム・ウィルソンと3人のセンターフォワードが負傷中ということもあり、同ポジションでプレー可能な選手はFWハリー・ケインとFWドミニク・キャルバート=ルーウィンの2選手のみ。
そのため、ハマーズの主砲として今季のリーグ戦19試合7ゴールを挙げているアントニオが招集される可能性は十分にあると思われる。
なお、今月25日にオーストリアでアメリカ代表との国際親善試合に臨むジャマイカ代表は現時点でメンバーを発表していないが、アントニオが初招集を受ける可能性は極めて高いようだ。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

イングランド代表のコーチ陣にコクラン氏が入閣、世代別のイングランド代表監督を務めた経験もある若手指導者…トゥヘル監督が最後の1人に指名
イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は26日、イングランド代表のコーチにジャスティン・コクラン氏(43)が就任することを発表した。 トーマス・トゥヘル監督が就任し、初の活動を3月に控えているイングランド。2026年の北中米ワールドカップ予選がスタートする中で、新たなコーチングスタッフが決定した。 コクラン氏は、クイーンズ・パーク・レンジャーズ(QPR)でキャリアをスタート。イングランドやアメリカでプレーし、2013年7月に現役を引退。引退前からトッテナムのアカデミーのスタッフとして働くと、U-15、U-16、U-17のイングランド代表の監督も務めていた。 イングランド代表の育成に携わってきたコクラン氏は、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドの育成ディレクターも務め、現在はブレントフォードでトーマス・フランク監督の右腕として指導にあたっている。 FAによれば、ブレントフォードとは兼任となるとのこと。トゥヘル監督は、アシスタントコーチのアンソニー・バリー氏、GKコーチのエンリケ・イラリオ氏、パフォーマンスコーチのニコラス・マイヤー氏らがいるコーチングスタッフの最後のメンバーとして迎えることを決めたという。 2025.02.27 11:50 Thu

フランスW杯の戦犯が…ベッカム史上最高のFKから20年「特別な瞬間だった」
