イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は14日、イングランド代表メンバーの変更を発表した。

イングランドは、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)欧州予選のグループIで2位のポーランド代表と3ポイント差の首位に立つ。そして、15日にアウェイで行われる最下位のサンマリノ代表戦で引き分け以上の結果を残せば、本大会出場が決定する状況だ。

ただ、この一戦に向けては負傷を抱えるMFジョーダン・ヘンダーソン(リバプール)、MFジャック・グリーリッシュ(マンチェスター・シティ)がすでにチームを離脱して所属クラブに戻り、FWラヒーム・スターリング(マンチェスター・シティ)が個人的な事情、歯の手術を行ったMFメイソン・マウント(チェルシー)、脳震とうの疑いがあるDFルーク・ショー(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)の3選手が遠征に帯同しないことが決定した。

これを受けてガレス・サウスゲイト監督は、MFコナー・ギャラガー(クリスタル・パレス)をフル代表に初招集した。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】
