いつの時代も議論が止まらないのが最高のサッカー選手。これまで数々のスター選手が活躍し、各々の主張がある。現代サッカー界では長年にわたってトップを走り続けている、パリ・サンジェルマンのアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシ、そしてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでプレーするFWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドの名前が挙げられるだろう。

そんな中、元イタリア代表FWアントニオ・カッサーノ氏が、元同僚のクリスティアン・ヴィエリ氏のTwitchチャンネル『BOBO TV』で言及したとスペイン『アス』が伝えた。C・ロナウドに対して辛辣な言葉を残した。
「彼はトップ5に入っていない。私にとって、メッシ、ペレ、マラドーナ、クライフ、“フェノメノ”ロナウドは別のレベルにある」

C・ロナウドは、ポルトガル代表でも182試合に出場し115ゴールと世界記録を保持。クラブレベルでも通算679ゴールを記録し、屈指のゴールスコアラーとして活躍。バロンドールも5度獲得し、チャンピオンズリーグで5度の優勝など多くのタイトルを獲得している。
しかし、カッサーノ氏にとってはC・ロナウドは眼中にない様子。サッカー史に名を残すペレ氏、ディエゴ・マラドーナ氏、ヨハン・クライフ氏に加え、ライバルのメッシ、そして元ブラジル代表FWロナウドと、数字以外の部分を大きく重視しているようだ。

また、この配信の中では新世代のゴールマシーンでもあるドルトムントのノルウェー代表FWアーリング・ハーランドについても言及。どこに移籍するのかについてカッサーノ氏はバイエルンを挙げた。

「気をつけろ。『バイエルンはハーランドとの契約を望んでいる』と言われたことがある。そしてまた、マドリーがレヴァンドフスキをここ2、3年欲しがっていることもある。それは私にとっては理に適っている」

一方で、ヴィエリ氏はレアル・マドリーに行くと聞いていると主張。何れにしても、この先のキャリアは注目を集めることになるだろう。

「とは言え、ハーランドはマドリーに100%行くと言われている。そう言われているけど、本当かどうかは分からないね」

メッシ 大好きなマテ茶のストローは7万円超えの特別仕様

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

「絶対に謝らない」ハーランド父に復讐したロイ・キーンが“報復”タックルを否定

現在は9人、イングランドでプレーする日本人女子選手の増加傾向を英紙が注目「今後も続く可能性が高い」 イングランドのFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)には、現在9人の日本人選手が所属。アジア人プレーヤーが増加傾向にある理由を、イギリス『BBC』が探った。 マンチェスター・シティのMF長谷川唯を筆頭に、ウェストハムにはDF清水梨紗とMF林穂之香に加え、今季からはFW植木理子も在籍。リバプールではMF長野風花が主軸を担っている。 オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)得点王の実績が評価され、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドにはMF宮澤ひなたが加入。チェルシーにはローンバックでFW浜野まいかが復帰し、今冬にはレスター・シティへ宝田沙織と籾木結花が籍を移した。 なでしこジャパンが2011年ドイツ女子W杯で優勝、2012年にロンドン・オリンピックで銀メダルを獲得した直後にも、2013年にチェルシーへ永里優季(現:ヒューストン・ダッシュ/アメリカ)が、2014年にアーセナルへ大野忍(スペランツァ大阪監督)や近賀ゆかり(サンフレッチェ広島レジーナ)が加入と、イングランドでのプレーを選択する日本人が続いたが、現在は当時とは異なる風向きで、勢いも加速している。 WSLで頭角を現した最初のアジア人選手と言えば、チェルシーで6度のリーグ優勝を達成した韓国女子代表MFチ・ソヨン(2014-2022年5月)をおいて他にないが、『BBC』では、続く存在として長谷川を挙げ、増加傾向にある日本人選手を特集。スカウティングへの投資、テレビによる世界的な女子サッカー中継の増加、移籍市場での競争の激化など、いくつかの要因を挙げた。 「映像が得られるという点で、スカウティングリソースは劇的に増加した。我々には2人の素晴らしいアナリストもいて、間違いのない選手を特定するのに役立っている」と、宝田と籾木を獲得したレスターのウィリー・カーク監督の言葉を引用。ウェストハムのレハネ・スキナー監督は、国際大会を通じて植木の才能を買っていたと話す。 また、イングランド内における女子サッカーの地位が高まったことによる、待遇の変化にも注目。給与の向上や移籍市場の変化により、WSLが選手にとってより魅力的なものになったと伝えている。 各チームの監督ともに、日本人選手の良さに「規律や戦術理解度、技術の高さ」などを挙げる。『BBC』は「これらの要因により、アジア系の才能ある人材がイギリスに流入することになり、最近到着した選手たちの成功を考えると、この傾向は今後も続く可能性が高い」と結んでいるが、まさしくその通りになるだろう。 最後に、各指揮官によるコメントを掲載。日本人選手、特に自チーム所属の選手を大いに評価している点がユニークだ。 「(WSLでプレーする)日本人選手はどんどん増えてくるだろうし、その理由も分かるだろう。非常に規律があり、聞く耳を持っている。強度も高く、ゲームの理解度もとても高い。もちろん、個々の能力は異なる。(長谷川)唯は非常に知的でゲームの読み方は誰にも負けないだろうし、信じられないほどの才能があると思う」(マンチェスター・シティ/ガレス・テイラー監督) 「風花は試合を読む力が高く、本当に素晴らしいサッカー選手だ。彼女たちは戦術面において非常にクレバーで、技術的にもとても優れている。後方から組み立てるチームの多いWSLの現状において、"日本ブランド"は我々にとって助けになる」(リバプール/マット・ビアード監督) 「日本人選手が増えた理由は明白です。戦術的に聡明で、技術的にも才能のある選手を望まない人はいないでしょう?彼女たちは私たちのチームに大きな価値をもたらしてくれました」(ウェストハム/レハネ・スキナー監督) 「必ずしもアジアの選手を探していたわけではなく、トップクラスのナンバー6を探していたら宝田を見つけたんだ。半年ほど注視して、夏に獲得しようとしたが、リンシェーピングとの合意に至らなかったから、(それなら満了後にと)事前契約を行った。チャンピオンズリーグのアーセナル戦は素晴らしかった」 「宝田選手をさらに見ていたら、籾木の良さにも気付いて、これは良い機会だと思ったんだ。2人とも素晴らしい才能のある選手だよ」(レスター・シティ/ウィリー・カーク監督) 2024.02.12 21:57 Mon

「後悔が1つある」カントナが“カンフーキック”事件を回顧「もっと強く蹴っていれば…」

マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのレジェンドである元フランス代表FWエリック・カントナ氏が現役時代の後悔について明かした。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が伝えている。 カントナ氏は、当時低調なシーズンを送っていたユナイテッドに1992年に加入。すぐさまチームに順応し、ユナイテッドをプレミアリーグ初代王者に導くと、翌1993-94シーズンには完全にチームの王様となり、卓越したテクニックと確かなキープ力、決定力を発揮。公式戦49試合25ゴールを記録し、PFA年間最優秀選手賞を受賞した。 ユナイテッドを常勝軍団に押し上げた“背番号7”だが、1995年1月25日のクリスタル・パレス戦で相手DFにユニフォームを引っ張られたことに対し腹を立て、報復のキックをしてしまい退場処分を受ける。 通路へ向かって歩いていたカントナ氏だったが、パレスのファンであるマシュー・シモンズに言葉をかけられると激昂し、観客席の相手に対し“カンフーキック”をお見舞い。その後も数発のパンチを浴びせるという破天荒な行動に出た。 イングランドサッカー協会(FA)から合計9カ月間の出場停止処分を受けたカントナ氏だが、当時のことについて1つ“後悔” していることがあると明かした。 「それまでも何千回と罵声を浴びせられたが、反応したことはなかった。だが、壊れる時もある」 「後悔が1つある。もっと強く蹴っておけばよかった。9カ月の出場停止になった。見せしめにしようとしたのさ」 出場停止後、チームに復帰したカントナ氏は、1995-96シーズンもリーグ優勝に導くと、翌1996-97シーズンはキャプテンを務め、5年間で4度目となるリーグ優勝を果たしたものの、現役引退を発表。サポーターに強烈な印象を与えつつ、スパイクを脱いだ。 <span class="paragraph-title">【動画】これ以上強く蹴るの?カントナが観客に“カンフーキック”を浴びせた衝撃のシーン</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The collar.
