首位シティは3日に行われたプレミアリーグ第30節で3位レスター・シティと対戦。ゴールレスで試合を折り返したが、後半にフランス代表DFバンジャマン・メンディ、ブラジル代表FWガブリエウ・ジェズスがゴールを決め、2-0で勝利した。

これで公式戦5連勝となり、6日に行われるチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)準々決勝1stレグのドルトムント戦に向けても弾みをつけたシティ。グアルディオラ監督は試合後、この勝利をプレミアリーグ優勝に向けての大きな一歩だと評した。
「我々は素晴らしいチームである彼らのホームで苦しめられたが、より忍耐強くなり、プレミアリーグ優勝への大きな一歩になった」

「インターナショナルブレイク後は先行きが読めないものが、私は選手たちのことを信頼している。選手たちも常に私のことを信じているわけじゃないが、私自身は選手の1人ひとりを好いているんだ」
「しばらくプレーしていない選手のことも信じている。勝ち続けていると、選手も再びプレーするために良いプレーをしなければならないことを認識している。選手たちの間にも良い連帯感があるね」

「プレミアリーグは最も素晴らしい大会。11カ月間も戦いが続き、非常にタフだ。我々は(優勝に)近づいている。あと3つの勝利が必要だ」

また、今季限りでの退団が決まってから初の試合に先発して、63分までプレーしたアルゼンチン代表FWセルヒオ・アグエロに言及。「アグエロは元気であり、ヒザの状態も完璧だ」と状態の良さを口にしている。

「彼は試合感が必要だが、我々はフレッシュな選手が必要。今週の彼が見せたトレーニングぶりに満足している」

「我々はこの先、何かを勝ち獲るために1ゴールが必要なときがあるかもしれない。彼ならそのときにやってくれるはずさ」

1チームに1人欲しかった“万能型サイドバック”、ジャンルカ・ザンブロッタ

メッシやイニエスタら輩出の“ラ・マシア”、122年の歴史で初めて女性選手が入寮

マンチェスター・シティFWアルバレスらの英語教師が“美しすぎる”と話題!「数人の選手の彼女が嫉妬に狂った」

シティ大ファンのノエル・ギャラガーがペップとの逸話を明かす「開幕前夜に優勝するとメールがきた」

「ハーランドがとても小さく見える」229㎝の元NBA選手とシティ選手たちの身長差に海外驚き「子供に見えてしまう」
