国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)は25日、2020年の『ザ・ベスト・FIFAフットボールアウォーズ』の年間最優秀監督賞候補5名を発表した。

今回有識者によって選出された年間最優秀監督賞候補には、昨シーズンのバイエルンでチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)、ブンデスリーガ、DFBポカールのシーズントレブルを達成したハンジ・フリック監督を筆頭に錚々たる名将が選出された。

本命のフリック監督以外ではリバプールに史上初のプレミアリーグのタイトルをもたらしたユルゲン・クロップ監督、セビージャでヨーロッパリーグ(EL)制覇を成し遂げたフレン・ロペテギ監督、レアル・マドリーに3シーズンぶりのラ・リーガのタイトルをもたらしたジネディーヌ・ジダン監督が順当に選出。
その中でやや意外な選考となったのが、フットボール界の鬼才と評されるリーズ・ユナイテッドのマルセロ・ビエルサ監督。フットボール界で多くの尊敬を集めるアルゼンチン人指揮官は、昨シーズンのチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)を制してリーズを16年ぶりのプレミアリーグに復帰させたが、トップディビジョン以外でのリーグタイトルでの候補入りは異例と言える。

なお、FIFAの公式サイトでは3名の最終候補を選出するファン投票を実施中で、ここに全世界200以上のメディア、FIFA加盟国の代表監督とキャプテンの投票が加わり、12月17日にチューリヒで行われるセレモニーの場で受賞者が発表される予定だ。

リバプールで試合出場なしも、B・デイビスに後悔はなし 「リバプールの選手だったという事実は誰にも奪えない」

「監督からの愛がなかった」リバプールOBがマネ退団の理由を推察

スケッチャーズがサッカースパイク界に進出!契約第1号はバイエルン移籍のイングランド代表FWケイン
