FIFA年間最優秀監督賞候補にフリックやクロップら5人の名将が選出

国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)は25日、2020年の『ザ・ベスト・FIFAフットボールアウォーズ』の年間最優秀監督賞候補5名を発表した。

今回有識者によって選出された年間最優秀監督賞候補には、昨シーズンのバイエルンでチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)、ブンデスリーガ、DFBポカールのシーズントレブルを達成したハンジ・フリック監督を筆頭に錚々たる名将が選出された。

本命のフリック監督以外ではリバプールに史上初のプレミアリーグのタイトルをもたらしたユルゲン・クロップ監督、セビージャでヨーロッパリーグ(EL)制覇を成し遂げたフレン・ロペテギ監督、レアル・マドリーに3シーズンぶりのラ・リーガのタイトルをもたらしたジネディーヌ・ジダン監督が順当に選出。
その中でやや意外な選考となったのが、フットボール界の鬼才と評されるリーズ・ユナイテッドのマルセロ・ビエルサ監督。フットボール界で多くの尊敬を集めるアルゼンチン人指揮官は、昨シーズンのチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)を制してリーズを16年ぶりのプレミアリーグに復帰させたが、トップディビジョン以外でのリーグタイトルでの候補入りは異例と言える。

なお、FIFAの公式サイトでは3名の最終候補を選出するファン投票を実施中で、ここに全世界200以上のメディア、FIFA加盟国の代表監督とキャプテンの投票が加わり、12月17日にチューリヒで行われるセレモニーの場で受賞者が発表される予定だ。

カナダをコパ・アメリカでベスト4に導いたマーシュ監督、母国アメリカ代表からの関心に「今も将来的にも興味はない」

「私はゲイで、それを隠すのに苦労していた」クロップ監督侮辱に薬物使用の元プレミア審判クート氏、カミングアウトとともに苦悩明かす「逃げ出したかった」

プレミアリーグで審判を務めていたデイビッド・クート氏が薬物使用の背景を明かした。 2018年に初めてプレミアリーグの審判を務め、100試合以上を捌いてきたクート氏。しかし、元リバプール指揮官のユルゲン・クロップ氏らを侮辱する動画が広まると、さらに薬物使用疑惑が浮上。プロ審判協会(PGMOL)は2024年12月上旬に解雇処分を下した。 そんな42歳はイギリス『ザ・サン』のインタビューに応じ、スキャンダル後初めて公の場へ。クロップ氏に問題発言した際も「しらふではなかった」と明かし、自らの性的指向が破滅に繋がったと告白している。 「特に10代の頃は深い恥じらいを感じていた。両親には21歳まで、友人たちには25歳になるまでカミングアウトしなかった」 「私がこのような立場に置かれた理由はセクシャリティによるものだけではない。しかし、私はゲイであること、そしてそれを隠すのに本当に苦労していたことを言わなければ、真実を話しているとは言えない」 「まだ若手レフェリーだった頃、私は自分の感情やセクシャリティを隠していた。レフェリーとしては良い特性でしたが、人としてはひどい特性だ。そして、それが私を一連の行動へと導いた」 「私は自尊心の問題を抱えてきた。私のセクシャリティにも関係している。私はゲイで、長い間『自分』であることを誇りに思う気持ちと向き合ってきた」 「審判としてのキャリアの中でひどく不快な中傷を受けてきた。そこに私のセクシャリティが加わると、本当に難しかった」 また、プライベートや過密日程も含めた大きなストレスから、コカインに「逃げたくなった」とも打ち明けている。 「毎日、毎週、毎月、それに頼っていたわけではない。使わなかった時期も長くあったが、私が持っていた逃避手段のひとつだった。ストレスや仕事の容赦ないプレッシャーから逃れるためだ。そのような方法を取っていたと明かすのは、非常に恥ずかしいことだ」 「2023年、私は突然母を亡くした。同じ時期に叔父が運動ニューロン疾患と診断された。コロナ禍とVARの導入により、各試合で6人の審判が急遽必要になった」 「私はFIFAに選ばれ、インドネシアで開催されたU-17ワールドカップ、そして昨年のユーロとオリンピックに参加した」 「つまり、2023-24シーズンは90試合以上に関与することになり、その多くは立て続けに行われた。昨シーズン終了後はすぐにユーロに参加したが、それは非常に大きなプレッシャーがかかるものだった。すぐに次の大会が控えており、オリンピックのためにパリに向かった」 「コカインの動画に映っているのを自分とは認識できない。当時の自身の気持ちには共感できないが、あれは私だ。スケジュールに追われていて、立ち止まる余裕がなかった。だからあのような状況に陥った。逃げ出したかったんだ」 現在は治療により薬物依存から脱したとのこと。誰かが自分と同じ過ちを繰り返さないよう警鐘を鳴らし、自らの今後についても語っている。 「同じような境遇にある人には、助けを求めて誰かに相談するよう言いたい。私のように問題を内に秘めていると、いずれ何らかの形で表面化するからだ」 「自分の運命を受け入れ、自分にとって何が大切かを改めて判断できるようになってからはずっと楽になった。家族や友人と有意義な時間を過ごし、前に進むために最善な場所がどこかを確かめる時間を取る」 2025.01.28 19:40 Tue

ドルトムントがミスリンタートTDを解任…ケールSDらとの確執原因か

バイエルンがスウェーデンの16歳逸材FWジョナ・クシ=アサレを獲得…U-19でプレー

スケッチャーズがサッカースパイク界に進出!契約第1号はバイエルン移籍のイングランド代表FWケイン

スパーズが今冬デッドライン・デーの主役へ? テル説得失敗の一方、トモリ獲得へ好感触か

今冬の移籍市場最終盤で慌ただしい動きを見せるトッテナムにネガティブなニュースとポジティブなニュースが届いたようだ。 現在、プレミアリーグで16位に低迷する一方、3つのカップ戦では順調な歩みを見せているスパーズ。そんななか、多くの負傷者に悩まされるチームは手薄な前線とディフェンスラインの補強を目指し、2月3日のデッドライン・デーまでに数選手の補強を目指している。 前線に関してはバイエルンのU-21フランス代表FWマティス・テル(19)の獲得に動いており、ダニエル・レヴィ会長も直接ミュンヘン入りした交渉で、クラブ間では今冬の完全移籍、あるいは買い取りオプション付きのレンタル移籍で大筋合意にこぎ着けた。 しかし、イギリス『The Athletic』など複数メディアの報道によれば、個人間ではテルの説得に失敗。同選手は今季いっぱいのバイエルン残留を基本線に、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドやアストン・ビラといったクラブへの移籍も考慮しているという。 クラブとしてはテル獲得を見越して、FWヤン・ミンヒョクやFWウィル・ランクシャーら若手アタッカーをレンタルに出したこともあり、市場閉幕までにテルに代わる新たなアタッカーの獲得が急務だ。 その一方で、センターバックの補強に関してはミランのイングランド代表DFフィカヨ・トモリ(27)の獲得交渉で良い感触を得ているという。 ただ、移籍市場に精通するジャーナリストのファブリツィオ・ロマーノ氏によれば、直近のエルフスボリ戦で右ヒザを負傷したルーマニア代表DFラドゥ・ドラグシンに重傷の可能性が出てきており、その場合トモリに加えて新たなDFの獲得に動く可能性もあるようだ。 現状ではアタッカーと2人のDF獲得が必要と思われるが、以前から土壇場補強を得意とするクラブは、今冬もデッドライン・デーの主役となるか。 2025.02.01 12:00 Sat
