DCユナイテッドに所属する元イングランド代表FWウェイン・ルーニーが自身を含めた同国代表の黄金世代を振り返った。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が報じた。

イングランド代表として120試合の出場数を誇り、歴代1位の53得点を記録したルーニー。だが、デイビッド・ベッカム氏や、ポール・スコールズ氏、ジョン・テリー氏、リオ・ファーディナンド氏を筆頭に錚々たる顔ぶれが集った時代もことごとくビッグトーナメントで早々に敗退するなど、チームとしての栄光とは無縁だった。

そのルーニーは、現在のスリー・ライオンズについて「今の彼が勝っている姿を観ると、エキサイティングで、幸せな気持ちになる」と述べると、自身の世代についても続けて言及。マンチェスター・シティを率いるジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督のような指導者がチームを率いていれば、「全て勝てた」と話した。

25年続くラウールの記録 CLでの最年少ハットトリック

ルーニーがアメリカで感じた“悪夢”はCBのシュバインシュタイガー「一番とは言わないが最も難しい相手」

マンチェスターの2クラブでプレーしたテベスが元チームメイトからベストイレブンを発表!7人がユナイテッドでプレー

「プレシーズンのたびに太っていた」 ルーニーが明かす現役時代の減量テクニック

1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 2020年の東京五輪でイギリス代表が復活か!?

▽2012年のロンドン・オリンピック(五輪)で結成されたチームGB(グレート・ブリテン)だが、再び結成する方向で話を進めているようだ。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が報じている。 ▽FA(イングランドサッカー協会)は、2020年に行われる東京五輪で、チームGBの結成を考えているとのこと。14日に行われたUEFA(欧州サッカー連盟)の臨時総会でも議論されたようだ。 ▽2012年のロンドンでは、自国開催ということもあって初めて五輪にサッカーチームが出場。チームGBとして参加したが、今年行われたリオ五輪には出場することはなかった。 ▽当時は、4協会が協力することでチームGBを結成する予定だったが、スコットランド、北アイルランドが反対。結局、イングランド、ウェールズの混合チームで臨むこととなった。 ▽ウェールズ、北アイルランド、スコットランドの各協会は、FIFA(国際サッカー連盟)における独立した地位が失われることを危惧していたが、「前FIFA会長のゼップ・ブラッター氏からジャンニ・インファンティノ氏に会長が代わったことで、その心配は無くなった」とFAのマーティン・グレンCEOがコメントした。なお、「問題は各国家の利益だ」ともしており、4協会が協力してチームを結成するには、まだ課題は残されているようだ。 2016.09.15 15:18 Thu
