センターバックの補強を目指しているフランクフルト。ギリシャ代表DFコンスタンティノス・コウリエラキス(20)の獲得に失敗した中、日本代表CBの獲得を目指しているという。

ドイツ『FUSSBALL.NEWS』によると、新たなターゲットはロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズの日本代表DF町田浩樹(26)とのことだ。

鹿島アントラーズで育った町田は、2022年1月にレンタル移籍でサン=ジロワーズに加入。2023年7月に完全移籍に切り替わると、2023-24シーズンは主力としてチームを支えた。

ジュピラー・プロ・リーグではプレーオフを含めて31試合に出場し1ゴール1アシスト。ヨーロッパリーグやヨーロッパ・カンファレンスリーグも経験すると、クロッキーカップでは決勝でゴールを記録し、110年ぶりのカップ優勝をチームにもたらせる活躍を見せていた。

今シーズンもチームの守備を支える中、フランクフルトは関心を寄せており、左利き、空中戦の強さ、190cmの長身とその素質を評価。約800万ユーロ(約13億円)の移籍金を支払う可能性があるという。

今夏はクリスタル・パレスも関心を寄せていた町田。フランクフルトは、エクアドル代表DFウィリアン・パチョ(22)をパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)に完全移籍させており、守備の補強に動いていたが、シーズン開幕前に成立するだろうか。
