ロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズの日本代表DF町田浩樹(26)のブンデスリーガ移籍が接近しているという。
鹿島アントラーズで育った町田は、2022年1月にレンタル移籍でサン=ジロワーズに加入。2023年7月に完全移籍に切り替わると、2023-24シーズンは主力としてチームを支えた。
ジュピラー・プロ・リーグではプレーオフを含めて31試合に出場し1ゴール1アシスト。ヨーロッパリーグやヨーロッパ・カンファレンスリーグも経験すると、クロッキーカップでは決勝でゴールを記録し、110年ぶりのカップ優勝をチームにもたらせる活躍を見せていた。

2026年北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア最終予選6試合で勝ち点16を稼ぎ、C組独走態勢に入っている日本代表。3月20日のバーレーン戦(埼玉)に勝てば、3試合残して本大会切符獲得が決まる見通しだ。 そうなれば、新戦力をテストする余裕も生まれる。森保一監督もここまでは出場権を得るために手堅い陣容で戦ってきたが、さらなる選手層拡大が必要不可欠だということはよく分かっているはず。特に久保建英(レアル・ソシエダ)より若い2002年生まれ以降の選手を増やしていくことが、先々の代表を考えても非常に重要なテーマなのだ。 そこで注目されるのが、2004年3月生まれのチェイス・アンリ(シュツットガルト)だろう。2022年に尚志高校を卒業し、Jリーグを経由せずにドイツに渡った187センチのDFは2023年末までは主にセカンドチームでプレー。2024年になってトップチームで練習する機会が増えたが、23-24シーズンのドイツ・ブンデスリーガ1部デビューは叶わなかった。 しかしながら、2024年8月24日のフライブルク戦で途中出場し、リーグ戦初出場を果たすと、今季はコンスタントにピッチ立つようになった。前半戦だけで12試合に出場。UEFAチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でもレアル・マドリー戦やユベントス戦に出場。世界最高峰レベルを体感し、驚異的な成長を遂げているのだ。 「アンリが最初にトップチームに来たのは、1年前のアジアカップの時。『この子、止める蹴るもうまくできないし、プレッシャーが来たらミスしちゃうし、ホントにどうなるんだろう』と心配になったくらいだったんだよね(笑)」 「でも、毎日壁に向かってボールを蹴ったり、自分とか洋輝(伊藤=バイエルン・ミュンヘン)に『一緒にやってください』と自分から言ってきて、アドバイスをもらったりもしてて、シーズン終わる頃にはトップチームの練習も遜色なくこなせるようになっていた。あの成長スピードにはホントに驚かされました」 「今季、CLに出ている姿を見ていると、伸び率の凄さに感心させられる。彼の良いところはドイツ人のチームメートやコーチに『どうしたら良いか』とどんどん聞きに行くし、うまくなりたいという気持ちを前面に押し出せるところ。あのメンタルは普通の日本人の若手とは全然違うと思いますね」と原口元気(浦和)も貪欲さと向上心の強さに太鼓判を押していた。 そういうガツガツ感やギラギラ感は、今の森保ジャパンに少し欠けているものかもなのかもしれない。1年前のアジアカップで8強敗退を強いられた後、チーム状態がV字回復したこともあり、選手たちはみな黙々とやるべきことをこなしている印象が強い。そこにチェイス・アンリのような鼻息の荒い若武者が参入してきたら、年長者たちは危機感を抱くはず。そう仕向けてほしいのだ。 早ければ、6月のオーストラリア(パース)・インドネシア(吹田)2連戦での代表デビューが有力視されるが、チェイス・アンリが2026年W杯に生き残れるかどうかというのはまだまだ未知数。というのも、日本のDF陣は優れたタレントの集団だからだ。 現時点では板倉滉(ボルシアMG)、町田浩樹(サン=ジロワーズ)らが最終ラインの軸を担っているが、ケガで離脱中の谷口彰悟(シント=トロイデン)、冨安健洋(アーセナル)、伊藤洋輝らが控えている。右サイドバック(SB)とウイングバック(WB)を兼務できる橋岡大樹(ルートン・タウン)や菅原由勢(サウサンプトン)、パリ五輪代表の関根大輝(柏)らもいて、その間に割って入るのは至難の業なのだ。 過酷な環境下でチェイス・アンリが確固たる地位を築くためにも、シュツットガルトでの今季後半戦でのパフォーマンスを大事にしなければいけない。 今季のシュツットガルトはブンデスで10位と昨季ほどの勢いを示せていないが、3位のフランクフルト、4位のライプツィヒとはまだ勝ち点4差しかなく、今後の戦い次第ではCL圏内に浮上することも十分可能。彼自身がその原動力になっていくことが重要だ。 CLの方も決勝トーナメントプレーオフに回る9〜24位のところにあと一歩という状況。残り2試合でチャンスをモノにできれば、より高い領域にたどり着けるかもしれない。先輩・原口でさえ手が届かなかったCLに20歳の若さで参戦できている貴重な経験値を生かし、高みを追い求め続けるしかないのだ。 10代からドイツでしのぎを削ってきた男がこの1年でどう化けるのか。それは多くの人々が興味を抱いている点だろう。これからはJリーグを経由せずにいきなり欧州で勝負する人材も増えていく。チェイス・アンリが次世代のモデルになってくれれば理想的。 2025年は彼にとって自身のキャリアを左右する重要な1年になりそうだ。 2025.01.10 11:00 Fri

北中米W杯のアジア最終予選、15日のインドネシア戦(ジャカルタ)と19日の中国戦(廈門)に臨む日本代表は10日朝の便でインドネシアへ移動したものの、飛行機の機材トラブルのため一度は羽田空港に引き返した。しかし同日20時過ぎの便で羽田空港を飛び立ち、午前2時頃に無事ジャカルタへ到着したようだ。といっても今回のトラブルは国内組に限られ、海外組の選手はこれから続々とジャカルタ入りする予定になっている。 そんな日本代表にとって、谷口彰悟の負傷離脱は大きな痛手。代わりに関根大輝が招集されたものの、谷口の代役はこれまでの実績から瀬古歩夢が濃厚だろう。板倉滉をセンターに回し、町田浩樹と瀬古での3BKが予想される。 海外組にとって気になるのは、中東での試合ではなく今回は東南アジアと極東でのアウェー2連戦ということで、移動と時差の負担が増えることである。ただ、以前のコラムでも紹介したように、無理に時差調整はしない代わりに、今回も現地での練習時間を3日間ほど確保している。あとはこれ以上のトラブルが起きることなく、無事に15日の試合を迎えて欲しいところだ。 さて日本がW杯予選でインドネシアと対戦するのは1990年イタリアWアジア1次予選以来で、実に35年ぶりとなる。 その理由は簡単。これまでインドネシアはアジア1〜2次予選で敗退していたため、最終予選まで勝ち上がることがなかったからだ。ちなみにこれまでの対戦成績も日本が11勝2分け6敗(オランダ領東インド時代を含む)とリードしているが、W杯出場は彼らの方が先だった(1938年フランス大会にオランダ領東インドとして出場)。 90年イタリアW杯予選では、89年6月11日に西が丘サッカー場で対戦し、長谷川健太らのゴールで5-0と圧勝した。試合後のインドネシアの監督は、西が丘サッカー場での公式戦に怒りを隠さなかった。インドネシアを格下と見下して、狭い更衣室と暗い照明の西が丘サッカー場でもいいだろうと日本サッカー協会が手配したと思ったようだ(実際、観衆はまばらで寂しい限りだった)。 しかし実際は、国立競技場が91年に開催される世界陸上(当時カール・ルイスは100メートル9・86の世界記録を樹立)のため大幅な改修工事をしていたことで、都内でのナイター試合は西が丘サッカー場しか用意できなかったというのが真相である。 前述したように日本はホームの試合ではインドネシアを圧倒したものの、アウェーはドローで1勝1分け、北朝鮮には1勝1敗、そして香港と2引き分けで横山ジャパンはインドネシアと同様1次予選での敗退を余儀なくされた。日本代表の「どん底時代」と言えたが、せめてもの救いはプロリーグ構想が少しずつ形を表し始めていたことだった。 98年以来、日本がアジア最終予選に進出してW杯のチケットを獲得するのは当り前の時代になった。一方のインドネシアも今年1月のアジアカップではグループリーグで日本に1-3と敗れたものの、トルシエ監督率いるベトナムに1-0で勝ったことで初のラウンド16進出を果たした。 そんな彼らの躍進を支えているのが、歴史的にも関係の深いオランダからの「輸入選手」だ。1月のアジアカップで対戦した時に1トップを務めたラファエル・ウィリアム・ストライク(デンハーグ)はオランダ育ちのストライカーで、10月15日の中国戦(1-2)でも1トップを任されていた。日本戦でゴールを決めたサンディー・ウォルシュ(メヘレン)は中国戦こそ控えだったが、そのきっかけを作ったロングスローの左SBアルハン(元東京V)は、中国戦でも交代出場からロングスローでゴールをお膳立てしている。 日本戦に出場した選手で中国戦にも出場したのはCBシェイン・パティナマ、ボランチのイヴァル・ジェナー(ユトレヒト)、ストライクの3人だけだが、サブにはCBリッキー・カンブアヤ、リスキ・リド、ウォルシュ、アルハンの4人が残っている。さらに新たにインドネシア国籍を取得した選手もいるだけに、侮ることはできないだろう。 中国戦も1月の日本戦と同様に[5-4-1]の超守備的な布陣だった。ただ、中国戦では簡単に浅いDFラインの背後を取られるなどチームとしての完成度は低い印象を受けた。それでもアウェーでサウジアラビアとバーレーンに引き分け(1-1、2-2)、ホームでもオーストラリアと引き分ける(0-0)粘りを見せているだけに、やはり侮ることは禁物だ。日本としては、できれば早い時間帯にゴールを奪い、優位に試合を進めたいところである。 文・六川亨 2024.11.11 16:30 Mon

2人のマク・アリスターがELで実現した兄弟対決を振り返る、兄「苦しんだのは弟のせい」弟「家族にとって特別なもの」

監督引き抜かれたザンクト・パウリ、サン=ジロワーズのブレシン監督を引き抜き成功! 110年ぶりのカップ優勝を達成
ザンクト・パウリは27日、新監督にアレクサンダー・ブレシン氏(51)を招へいしたことを発表した。 現役時代はドイツ国内のクラブやトルコでもプレー経験のあるブレシン氏は、引退後に指導者の道を歩む。 2010年7月にSVボンランデンのアシスタントコーチとして指導者キャリアを歩み始めると、RBライプツィヒの下部組織で長らく指導を続ける。 2020年7月にベルギーのKVオーステンデでファーストチームの監督に初就任。その後、ジェノアでも指揮を取ると、2023年7月にロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズの監督に就任した。 日本代表DF町田浩樹も指導したブレシン氏は、チームを110年ぶりのクロッキー・カップ優勝に導くと、ジュピラー・プロ・リーグでは2位に導いていた。 ザンクト・パウリは2.ブンデスリーガ(ドイツ2部)を優勝し、ブンデスリーガに昇格したものの、ファビアン・ヒュルツェラー監督がブライトン&ホーブ・アルビオンに引き抜かれてしまい、監督が不在となっていた。 そんな中、当初から噂があり、ブライトンと同じオーナーが保有するサン=ジロワーズで指揮を執っていたブレシン氏の引き抜きに成功。両クラブは移籍の内容は非公開にすることで合意している。 ブレシン氏はクラブを通じてコメントしている。 「ザンクト・パウリはドイツだけでなく国際的にも信じられないほどの魅力を持っている。このクラブは、プロスポーツにおける明確な価値観と野心的な取り組みを象徴している」 「長い間2部に所属していたクラブをブンデスリーガで監督するのは大きな仕事だ。チーム一丸となって、クラブ全体で果敢にこの課題に挑みたいと思う。ミラーントア(本拠地)でブンデスリーガのビッグクラブに挑戦できることを本当に楽しみにしている」 2024.06.28 00:10 Fri
