アーセナルのスコットランド代表DFキーラン・ティアニーが、自身の古巣であるセルティックの日本人選手について言及した。スコットランド『サン』が伝えた。スコットランド生まれのティアニーはセルティックのアカデミー出身。2016年1月に18歳でファーストチームに昇格すると、左サイドバックのレギュラーとしてプレー。公式戦170試合で8ゴール37アシストを記録した。

2019年8月にアーセナルに加入すると、ケガなどに悩まされながらも公式戦110試合で5ゴール13アシストを記録。今シーズンは途中出場なども多いが公式戦23試合で1ゴール1アシストを記録している。
ティアニーは今でもセルティックのファンとして知られるが、そのセルティックは昨シーズンから一気に日本人選手が増加。FW古橋亨梧をはじめ、FW前田大然、MF旗手怜央、MF井手口陽介、DF小林友希、DF岩田智輝と6名が所属。また、アンジェ・ポステコグルー監督もJリーグからやってきたこともあり、日本に縁が強くなっている一方で、チームもリーグ制覇を成し遂げるなど大きく結果を残している。

アーセナルでは日本代表DF冨安健洋とチームメイトであるティアニーは、古巣の日本人選手についてコメント。冨安にそれぞれの選手について教えてもらっていると明かした。
「トミとはよく話をする。僕は日本から来た選手のことはよく知らなかったし、先月サインした2人も同じだ。僕はJリーグを観ていないから、トミに情報と選手としての考えを聞いたんだ」

「前田大然はカタールで開催されたワールドカップの日本代表でトミと一緒にいたね。トミは契約した全ての選手についてポジティブなことを言っていたし、それを聞いてとても嬉しいよ」

また、冨安についてもコメント。両サイドバックでプレーする冨安はライバルにもなるが、良い関係を築いているようだ。

「彼も本当に素晴らしい選手だし、素晴らしいチームメイトだ。とても良い仲間だ」

「僕はいつもトミと話をして、トレーニング場ではセルティックの試合があれば一緒によく観ている。僕は、彼をセルティックのファンにしようとしているんだ(笑)」

ティアニーと言えば、幼少期に当時セルティックでスター選手だった元日本代表MF中村俊輔からスパイクをもらったエピソードが有名。同じ左利きのキックの名手に憧れていたことは有名だが、中村が多くの日本人の憧れでもあると語った。

「おかしな話だけど、僕がセルティックで子供の頃に中村俊輔からスパイクをもらった古い映像をトミが見たらしい。彼はずっと前から気がついていたんだ」

「中村は子供の頃のトミのヒーローの1人だったけど、それは世界中の多くの日本人選手と同じだと思うよ」

アーセナルが左SBと万能型MFの獲得に迫る!

アーセナルが2人の若手タレントの獲得に迫っているようだ。移籍市場に精通するイタリア人ジャーナリストのファブリツィオ・ロマーノ氏が報じている。 今夏の移籍市場においてスカッド刷新を目指すアーセナルは、ブライトンのイングランド代表DFベン・ホワイト(23)の獲得をほぼ決定的なモノとしている。 さらに、クラブは左サイドバックのバックアッパーと、身体能力に優れるボックストゥボックスタイプのMFの獲得に近づいているようだ。 先日に新契約にサインしたスコットランド代表DFキーラン・ティアニーが主力を担う左サイドバックでは左利きのバックアッパーがおらず、ミケル・アルテタ監督はティアニー不在に左利きの中盤の選手や右利きのサイドバックを起用しており、補強ポイントのひとつとなっている。 そして、そのバックアップ候補として獲得に迫っているのが、ベンフィカのU-21ポルトガル代表DFヌーノ・タヴァレス(21)だ。 ベンフィカの下部組織出身のタヴァレスは2019年にトップチームデビュー。両親がカーボベルデ出身ということもあり、ブラックアフリカンらしいしなやかなバネとスピードを持つアスリート能力が高い184cmのDFは、推進力と攻撃センスを併せ持つ攻撃寄りのプレースタイルの持ち主だ。 ロマーノ氏が伝えるところによれば、今シーズンの公式戦25試合に出場した21歳の獲得に際して、アーセナルは800万ユーロ(約10億5000万円)+各種インセンティブという条件で原則合意に至ったという。さらに、選手サイドとも2026年までの5年契約で合意を取り付けているようだ。 一方、スイス代表MFグラニト・ジャカやスペイン代表MFダニ・セバージョスらが退団するセントラルMFでは、アンデルレヒトのベルギー代表MFアルベール・サンビ・ロコンガ(21)の獲得に迫っている。 ベルギー屈指の育成組織を持つアンデルレヒトのアカデミー出身のサンビ・ロコンガは、2017年にトップチームデビュー。DRコンゴにルーツを持つセントラルMFは、豊富な運動量と機動力を生かしたダイナミックなプレーに加え、安定したボール捌きやミドルシュートもレパートリーに持つプレミアリーグ向きのプレーヤーだ。 今シーズンの公式戦では37試合3ゴール3アシストの活躍をみせ、今月にベルギー代表初招集を受けていた。 その伸びしろ十分の若手MF獲得に向け、アーセナルは1750万ユーロ(約23億円)+ボーナス450万ユーロ(約6億円)の移籍金に加え、将来的なリセール時の移籍金5パーセントという条件を掲示し、アンデルレヒトサイドから好感触を得ているという。また、アーセナル移籍を希望する選手サイドとはすでに合意に至っている模様だ。 2021.06.30 00:47 Wed
