メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のアトランタ・ユナイテッドの公式SNSの動画が物議を醸している。

8日、アトランタ・ユナイテッドはセルティックのギリシャ代表FWギオルゴス・ギアクマキス(28)を完全移籍で獲得したことを発表。セルティックでは日本代表FW古橋亨梧の控えという立場だったものの、2021-22シーズンは公式戦29試合で17ゴールを記録。今シーズンは公式戦28試合で9ゴール1アシストを記録しているパワフルなストライカーだ。

そのギアクマキスに対しては、今冬の移籍市場で浦和レッズがオファー。浦和のメディカルチェックをオランダで受け合格するなど獲得に近づいていた。

しかし、ギアクマキスは家族の理由で日本行きよりもアメリカ行きを選択。当初はレンタル移籍のオファーだったアトランタ・ユナイテッドが完全移籍のオファーを提示したことで交渉がまとまった。

ギアクマキスの加入を発表したアトランタ・ユナイテッドだったが、クラブの公式SNSに1本の動画を投稿。飛行機が映された動画で、機長が「日本の埼玉からジョージア州のアトランタに行き先を変更する」とアナウンスする内容だった。

明らかに浦和を意識した動画にはファンも注目。「ふざけんな」、「面白い」、「嫌いな海外クラブ初めて出来たわぁ」、「なめやがって」、「海外らしい煽り方で嫌いじゃない」、「あからさまな挑発」と怒りや呆れ、さらには笑いの反応が入り混じっている。

ギアクマキスとの交渉が難航する中、別のターゲットにもオファーを提示していた浦和。開幕は目前だが、新たなストライカーを獲得することは叶うだろうか。

中村俊輔氏がCLユナイテッド戦で決めた伝説のFKがセルティック過去20年のベストゴールに選出! 本人はビデオメッセージ「大変光栄」

浦和が“バンディエラ”山田暢久氏との契約解除を発表…引退後は強化部スタッフとして契約

2025シーズンのホームグロウン制度、14クラブが不遵守も罰則なし…最多はFC東京の15名

Jリーグが理念強化配分金とファン指標配分金の支給額を発表! 「DAZN」ベースのファン指標分配金の1位は浦和、最下位はYSCCに…連覇神戸は5.5億円
