EFLカップ(カラバオカップ)準々決勝、サウサンプトンvsリバプールが18日に行われ、1-2でリバプールが逃げ切った。サウサンプトンのDF菅原由勢は61分から出場、リバプールのMF遠藤航はフル出場している。

ラウンド16でストーク・シティを撃破したサウサンプトンは、菅原がベンチスタートとなった。

一方、ブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオンを下した昨季王者リバプールは、遠藤が[4-2-3-1]の左センターバックでスタメンとなった。
5バックで構えるサウサンプトンに対し、攻撃時に遠藤をボランチに上げる3バックとする可変で臨んだリバプールが押し込む流れで立ち上がった中、24分に最初のチャンスを生かして先制する。

アーノルドのフィードがルーズとなったボールをディフェンスライン裏で拾ったヌニェスがGKと一対一に。これを確実に仕留めた。
さらに32分、リバプールがリードを広げる。ガクポが遠藤のリターンパスを受けてラストパス。ボックス内に侵入したエリオットが右足でシュートを決めきった。

36分にもアーノルドのアーリークロスからマク・アリスターに決定機のあったリバプールが2点をリードして前半を終えた。

迎えた後半、キエーザを右ウイングに投入したリバプールが引き続き押し込む展開とするも、59分にサウサンプトンが1点差とする。遠藤の顔面に当たったルーズボールを拾ったアーチャーがボックス左へ侵入、シュートを蹴り込んだ。

その後、菅原を右ウイングバックに投入したサウサンプトンは61分に同点の絶好機。菅原の右クロスにアーチャーがボレーで合わせたが、GKケレハーのファインセーブに阻まれた。

終盤にかけてはサウサンプトンの攻勢が強まったものの、凌いだリバプールが2-1で逃げ切り。ベスト4に進出している。

日本人6人目を獲得したサウサンプトン/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録

今冬のヨーロッパの移籍マーケットは2月3日がタイムリミットだが、いまのところ日本人選手に大きな動きはない。セルティックの古橋亨梧がフランス・リーグ1部のスタッド・レンヌへ完全移籍したのは意外だったものの、“2強"のスコットランド・リーグから5大リーグへの移籍で結果を残せるか注目の集まるところだ。 プレミアリーグへの移籍が噂される久保建英だが、果たして実現するのか。ブライトンの三笘薫にはサウジアラビアのアル・ナスルが巨額の移籍金(96億円)でオファーを出したようだが、クラブはこれを拒否しただけに実現の可能性はほとんどないだろう。あとはリーグ戦での出番が少ないリバプールの遠藤航に他クラブからオファーが届くのかどうか。今年2月で32歳になるだけに、移籍に関しては微妙な年齢でもある。 そんなプレミア・リーグで注目しているのが、日章学園からサウサンプトン入りする高岡伶颯だ。2023年11月にインドネシアで開催されたU-17W杯でポーランド、アルゼンチン、セネガルとの3試合で高岡は、3戦連続となる計4ゴールをマーク。アルゼンチンには敗れたものの、途中出場だったポーランド戦とセネガル戦で日本を勝利に導いた。その後は24年4月に日本高校選抜の一員として、デュッセルドルフ国際ユース大会に出場するとチームトップタイの3ゴールをあげた。 高岡は現在、U-20日本代表の一員として2月10日に中国・深圳でスタートするAFC U-20アジアカップに参加予定でいる。グループリーグDでタイ、シリア、韓国と対戦し、準々決勝をクリアしてベスト4に進出すれば9月27日にチリで開幕するU-20W杯への出場権を獲得できる。彼のサクセスストーリーがどこまで続くのか、こちらも興味深い。 そしてサウサンプトンである。南部の古豪であり、現在は菅原由勢が所属し、昨夏には松木玖生も移籍した(現在はトルコ1部のギョズテペSKへレンタル移籍中)。高岡の移籍で(レンタルに出されなければ)、複数の日本人がプレーするプレミア・リーグのクラブとなる。彼らだけでなく、過去には李忠成(2011-2013)、吉田麻也(2012-2020)、南野拓実(2021)らも所属した。 近隣のブライトンには三笘がいるし、隣接するサウスコーストダービーの相手ポーツマスには川口能活も所属していた。資金力ではロンドンのビッグクラブや北部のリバプール、マンチェスターの2強に遠く及ばないだけに、「安くて将来性のある」Jリーガーを獲得するのが南部のクラブのトレンドになりつつあるのかもしれない。 サウサンプトンのユース出身者はアラン・シアラーやガレス・ベイルなどイングランドとウェールズを代表するストライカーも輩出している。育成型のクラブだけに、高岡の選択は賢明だと言えるだろう。 クラブは2001年8月にホームスタジアムを103年間使用したザ・デルからセント・メリーズ・スタジアムへ移転。この完成したばかりのスタジアムで、同年10月7日にトルシエ・ジャパンはナイジェリアと対戦した。試合は日本が柳沢敦と鈴木隆行のゴールで2-2と引き分けた。 真新しいスタジアムの正面ゲート上部には、クラブ最多227ゴールを決めたレジェンドFWミック・シャノン(1966-77、1972-82)の名前が冠されていて、等身大の写真パネルも飾られていた。かつて憧れた選手だけに、感慨もひとしおだった記憶がある(シャノンは現役引退後に競走馬の調教師としても成功)。 2025.01.31 23:00 Fri

「リバプールがダメというわけではなく…」セリエA最優秀GKディ・グレゴリオの代理人がユベントス入りの経緯明かす「約束を守った」

イタリア人GKミケーレ・ディ・グレゴリオ(26)の代理人が、ユベントス移籍の背景を語った。 インテルの下部組織出身で、以前はレンタル移籍を繰り返していたディ・グレゴリオ。しかし、2020-21シーズンに当時セリエBを戦っていたモンツァに貸し出されると、2022年夏には完全移籍へ移行した。 加入後から正守護神の座を守り、2022-23シーズンにはチームがセリエAへ昇格。セリエAで33試合に出場した2023-24シーズンは、14回のクリーンシートを達成し、リーグ最優秀GK賞にも輝いた。 ユーロ2024を戦うイタリア代表メンバーにこそ入らなかったものの、5日にはユベントスへのステップアップが決定。買取義務付きのレンタル移籍が実現した。 代理人を務めるカルロ・アルベルト・ベッローニ氏は、イタリア『トゥット・スポルト』のインタビューに対応するなかで、今回の移籍の経緯を説明。スポーツ・ディレクター(SD)のクリスティアーノ・ジュントリ氏が、ユベントスやインテル、ラツィオで活躍した元イタリア代表GKに姿を重ね、獲得の熱意を伝えたようだ。 「ディレクターは彼を強く望んでいた。ディ・グレゴリオのプレーにアンジェロ・ペルッツィを見たと何度も言っていた」 「ユベントスへの移籍について交渉していた時、ジュントリはディグレ(ディ・グレゴリオ)に、『勝利するチームは強力なGKによって作られるもので、セリエAで最高のGK、つまりディ・グレゴリオをチームに迎え入れたい』と言っていた」 「我々は、他のクラブならもっと魅力的だったかもしれない経済的な部分に目を向けなかった。ヴェッキア・シニョーラ(老貴婦人/ユベントス)を高いレベルに戻したいというジュントリ氏の願望に心を打たれたんだ。そしてミケーレは主人公としてその一員になりたいと思っている」 また、6月にはリバプールから高額なオファーも届いていたとのこと。プレミアリーグのクラブよりユベントスを優先した理由を語った。 「レッズからの強い関心があったが、リバプールがダメというわけではなく、ユーベとの約束を守っただけだと強調したい。我々は数カ月前にジュントリと握手を交わしていたし、その合意を尊重したいと考えていた。GKにとってユーベはプレーするのに最適なクラブの代表例だ。歴史が物語っている」 2024.07.10 17:58 Wed
