レバークーゼンのオランダ代表DFジェレミー・フリンポン(23)は、前所属セルティックにとって近年で最も成功した移籍ビジネスの1人だろう。

名手シャビ・アロンソ監督のもと、ブンデスリーガ無敗で初優勝へ突っ走るレバークーゼン。各ポジションに卓越した選手が揃う彼らだが、両ウイングバックのDFアレハンドロ・グリマルド、そしてフリンポンの攻撃力も見逃せない。

左のグリマルドが公式戦38試合で11得点15アシスト、右のフリンポンが34試合で11得点11アシストと、揃ってにわかには信じ難いほどの数字をマーク。フリンポンに関しては23歳と若く、今夏のステップアップも濃厚とされる。
どうやらフリンポンには3500万ポンド(約66億7000万円)の契約解除条項があり、イギリス『フットボール・インサイダー』いわく、プレミアリーグから複数のトップクラブが獲得を考慮。この額の満額支払いを苦にしないクラブもあるだろう。

その一方、マンチェスター・シティからセルティックを経てレバークーゼン入りしたフリンポン。2021年1月まで所属したセルティックは、同選手をレバークーゼンへ売却時、リセール時に売却益30%を譲渡してもらう契約を結んだとのこと。
仮に今夏3500万ポンドで移籍なら、セルティックは純益700万ポンド(約13億3000万円)を確保することに。19年にシティへ支払った移籍金がわずか35万ポンド(約6000万円)、21年のレバークーゼンへの売却で1150万ポンド(約21億9000万円)...今夏も移籍なら収支は大きなプラスだ。

2019-20シーズンのセルティックのスコットランド3冠にピッチレベルでも大きく貢献していたフリンポン。セルティックにとってのフリンポンは、近年で最も成功した移籍ビジネスの1人だろう。

ベンフィカのヴァイグルがドルトムント時代を回想「誰も僕のことは知らなかった」

アズムンは今季限りでローマ退団へ…セビージャらが関心

「知らなかったからビックリした」セルティック加入井手口陽介の上半身タトゥーに驚きの声
