国際親善試合2連敗と振るわぬドイツ代表チーム

かつてバイエルンやヴォルフスブルクで指揮を執ったフェリックス・マガト氏が、ドイツ代表のユリアン・ナーゲルスマン監督やドイツサッカー連盟(DFB)を批判した。

ワールドカップ(W杯)では2大会連続でグループステージ敗退の屈辱を味わい、バイエルンで3冠を成し遂げたハンジ・フリック監督に再建を託したドイツ。しかし、指揮官はチームの立て直しに失敗すると2023年は6試合わずか1勝と明るい兆しすら見出せず、9月の国際親善試合で日本代表に惨敗を喫したことを引き金に解任された。ドイツ代表史上初の指揮官解任という決断を下したDFBは、後任にナーゲルスマン監督を任命。それでも、初陣こそ勝利を飾ったがその後は3戦1分け2敗と振るわず、2024年に予定される自国開催のユーロに向けて暗雲が立ち込めている。

マガト氏も現在の代表の状況を憂慮。ドイツ『スカイ・スポーツ』の取材で指揮官の采配を批判しつつ、最大の責任はDFBにあるとしている。

「今のチームは何もかもが欠けている状態だ。グループの構成が正しくないと思う。物事がうまくいっていないチームだと、全員が本来のレベル以下でプレーすることになるのだ。そしてそれが、今のドイツの状況でもある」

「我々は守備の課題について話していたと思う。だが、指揮官は安定性よりもストライカー(カイ・ハヴァーツ)をディフェンダーとして配置することを選択した。選手たちは指摘されてきたことが采配に反映されておらず、少し混乱したと思う」

「残念ながら、選手たちは指揮官の戦術を理解できていない。今はそれぞれの役割や自分のポジションがはっきりしていない状態だ。それでいて、十分な練習期間もない。これは選手たちにとって負担が大き過ぎるだろう」

「DFBはカタールW杯の失敗などについて分析するつもりがなかった。今も、本格的な分析がされているとは思えない。すべてが以前と同じように続いている状態だ。彼らは何も変わらず、変えたいと思っていない。DFBはまだうまくやっている、大丈夫だと思っているのだろう」
