マガト氏も現在の代表の状況を憂慮。ドイツ『スカイ・スポーツ』の取材で指揮官の采配を批判しつつ、最大の責任はDFBにあるとしている。

「今のチームは何もかもが欠けている状態だ。グループの構成が正しくないと思う。物事がうまくいっていないチームだと、全員が本来のレベル以下でプレーすることになるのだ。そしてそれが、今のドイツの状況でもある」

「我々は守備の課題について話していたと思う。だが、指揮官は安定性よりもストライカー(カイ・ハヴァーツ)をディフェンダーとして配置することを選択した。選手たちは指摘されてきたことが采配に反映されておらず、少し混乱したと思う」

「再び9番が現れるには…」ケディラがドイツサッカーの現状を憂う「A代表は若手をテストする場じゃない」

バルセロナが19歳の至宝ヴィルツに関心、代理人の父親と接触するも…
