日テレ・東京ヴェルディベレーザのFW植木理子が、W杯へ向けての意気込みを語った。日本サッカー協会(JFA)は13日、来月に迫るオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に臨むなでしこジャパン(日本女子代表)のメンバー23名を発表。WEリーグの日テレ・東京ヴェルディベレーザからは、GK田中桃子、FW植木理子、FW藤野あおばが選出された。

メンバー発表後、3選手は高円宮記念JFA夢フィールドにて会見を実施。意気込みを語った。
2019年フランス女子W杯時にはメンバーに選出されながらも、開幕前のケガで離脱を余儀なくされた植木。「悔しさを晴らせるのはワールドカップしかない」と、今大会に懸ける想いは強い。

「4年前はケガで離脱してしまったので、その悔しさを晴らせるのはワールドカップしかないと思っていました。4年越しに名前を呼ばれ、このチャンスを掴みたいという気持ちが高まっています」
「ただ、呼ばれるだけではなく、結果を出すことが一番だと思うので、チームの結果に関われるように頑張りたいと思います」

「(離脱時を振り切って)あれほど泣いた日はなかったです。ただ、今思えば実力が足りなかったとも感じます。この4年間、いろいろな人に助けられながら頑張ってきてよかったなと感じますが、まだ何かを残したわけではない。(4年前と)同じスタートラインには立てたので、チームのために自分の持てる全てをぶつけたいです。それで初めて4年前の経験をしてよかったと言えると思うので、最後はそう思えるように頑張りたいです」

23歳のアタッカーは今季のWEリーグで14ゴールを挙げて得点王に輝き、WEリーグカップ、皇后杯での得点王も含めて個人三冠を達成。自身はチームメイトに生かされていると常に謙遜するが、悔しさを晴らすべく、本大会での爆発にも期待が掛かる。

「得点王をもらって責任は必ずあると思うので、仲間に助けられてばかりですけれど、今度は自分のゴールでチームを救えるよう、責任感を持って戦っていきたいです」

試合前に突然の契約解除…日テレ・ベレーザのFW神谷千菜が退団、昨季加入で5得点の活躍

東京NB退団のDF木﨑あおいがマレーシアに挑戦! 浦和の下部組織出身で、EL埼玉、S広島Rでもプレー

「マジ!?」「衝撃」なでしこ守護神がMVに出演?! エビ中の新曲「kyo-do?」にエキストラで登場も難易度超高…「多分探せないけど探してみてね」

日テレ・ベレーザの10番MF木下桃香が21歳で現役引退を決断…2年連続WEリーグベスト11の実力者「サッカーから離れ、自分と向き合う時間をつくりたい」
