カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の準々決勝で戦ったフランス代表とイングランド代表。ハイレベルな戦いとなった試合は2-1でフランスが勝利を収めていたが、スタンドでは懐かしい2人の再会が起きていたようだ。それは、元フランス代表MFのクロード・マケレレ氏と元イングランド代表MFデイビッド・ベッカム氏の2人だ。

マケレレ氏は試合前、スタジアムの様子を撮影しようと自身のスマートフォンで自撮り。周囲をぐるっと撮影していたところ、カメラ越しに近くで試合を観ていたベッカム氏と目が合った。
ベッカム氏を見つけたマケレレ氏は大興奮。一緒に肩を組んでそれぞれの母国にエールを送っていた。

その様子には、マケレレ氏だけでなくファンも興奮。「一番海外サッカー見てた時期の選手がこうやって仲良さそうなの見ると和むな」、「めちゃめちゃほっこりする」、「マケレレとベッカムとか胸熱」と反響が集まった。
2人は2003年にレアル・マドリーでわずかな期間だけ一緒にプレー。マケレレ氏はすぐにチェルシーへと移籍してしまい、そのボランチのポジションを本職ではないベッカム氏が務めることもあった。

この2人がもっと一緒にプレーしているところも見てみたかったものだ。

FIFA公式がロシアW杯ベストイレブンを発表! ヤングやパウリーニョら“クセがすごい”選出も…

「壮大で記憶に残る」ナイキのPVでムバッペvsロナウジーニョが実現!豪炎寺修也も登場で海外ファン歓喜
