マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのフランス代表DFラファエル・ヴァランはカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)に間に合うようだ。

コンディションさえ整っていれば、開幕まであと2週間を切ったW杯のフランス代表入りが確実なヴァラン。先月22日に行われたプレミアリーグのチェルシー戦でハムストリングを痛めてしまい、時間との戦いに直面しているが、9日のメンバー発表に滑り込めそうだという。

フランス『レキップ』によると、ヴァランはランニングを開始。まだ治療が続いているが、リハビリは予定どおりに進み、ディディエ・デシャン監督も当てにできる状況との認識を深めているようだ。
また、ユナイテッドではW杯前の残る公式戦2試合も出場しない見込みだが、14日のフランス代表合流日までにトレーニング再開が可能性とも。まだ慎重を期す必要もあるが、チェルシー戦で負傷交代時に涙を流す姿が印象的だったヴァランは何とかW杯に間に合いそうだ。

ディフェンディングチャンピオンとして挑む今大会だが、MFポール・ポグバをはじめとする複数主力に欠場者が相次ぐフランス代表。守備陣の軸を担うヴァランが合流可能となれば、朗報といえるだろう。

リールに所属する元フランス代表DFサミュエル・ユムティティ(31)が、慢性的なヒザのケガを理由に現役引退を考慮しているようだ。スペイン『スポルト』が報じている。 下部組織に在籍した時代から次代のレ・ブルーのディフェンスラインを牽引する守備者として大きな期待を集め、リヨンのファーストチームでも順調にキャリアを歩んだユムティティ。2016年にはバルセロナへステップアップを果たし、2018年のロシア・ワールドカップで世界王者にも輝いた。 ここから世界最高峰のセンターバックへ到達するとの期待を集めたが、2018-19シーズンから慢性的なヒザのケガに苦しめられてキャリアが暗転。復帰と離脱を繰り返してパフォーマンスレベルを大きく低下させると、バルセロナでは徐々に構想外の扱いに。 その後、2022-23シーズンにはレンタル先のレッチェでセリエA25試合に出場するなど、復活の兆しを見せて2023年夏にはリールへ完全移籍。母国でキャリア再生を図ったが、2024年2月にヒザの手術を余儀なくされると、8月には再手術。リールでは在籍1年半でわずか13試合の出場にとどまっている。 リールとの現行契約は今シーズン限りとなっており、クラブは稼働率に大きな問題を抱える31歳と新たな契約を結ぶ意思はなく、このまま退団となる見込みだ。 そして、『スポルト』によれば、ユムティティは同い年で、先日に現役引退を決断した同胞ラファエル・ヴァランに続き、ケガを理由にスパイクを脱ぐことを考慮に入れているとのことだ。 2024.12.26 21:21 Thu

マテラッツィ、ジダンとの“頭突き事件”を引き起こした侮辱発言の真相を明かす

▽現役時代にインテルなどで活躍した元イタリア代表DFマルコ・マテラッツィ氏が、2006年ドイツ・ワールドカップ(W杯)決勝で起こした元フランス代表MFジネディーヌ・ジダン氏との“頭突き事件”で、自身が発した侮辱発言の真相を明かした。同氏がフランス『レキップ』のインタビューで語った。 ▽ジダン頭突き事件は、2006年7月9日にベルリン・オリンピアシュタディオンで行われたドイツW杯決勝のイタリア代表VSフランス代表の延長戦で起きた。それ以前から何度かジダン氏とマッチアップしていたマテラッツィ氏は、延長後半5分にジダン氏に対して、幾度か声をかけると、この挑発にのったジダン氏は無言のまま、マテラッツィ氏の胸に頭突きを見舞い、この暴力行為によってレッドカードを掲示され、自身の現役ラストマッチを退場という形で終えることになった。 ▽マテラッツィ氏は、同事件からちょうど10年目を迎える前日の8日にジダン氏の母国フランスのメディア『レキップ』で、ジダン氏に向けて言い放った侮辱発言の真相を明かしている。 「以前から多くの人々に、ジダンにあのような行為(頭突き)をさせた自分の発言内容について聞かれ続けてきた。だから、私はそのことに関して本を出版することを決めた」 「多くの新聞が推測したように、私は彼の母親についてではなく、彼の姉について言及した。私は15歳の頃に自分の母親を亡くしている。だから、彼の母親を侮辱するほど下劣な人間ではないんだ」 「また、私はあの事件がなぜこれほどの騒ぎとなったのか、未だに理解できないんだ。私があの日に関して覚えているのは、自分が決めたゴールだけだ」 「時々、イタリアでは街中でファンと遭遇することがあるけど、彼らは“マルコ、あいつ(ジダン)から頭突きを受けるなんてうまくやったな”と声をかけてくるんだ。ただ、僕は頭突きされた側だから、少し腹立たしい気持ちになる。それはこの事件の奇妙な部分でもある。ただ、個人的には大したことだと思っていないし、あの行為に怒ってもいないんだ」 ▽なおマテラッツィ氏は、ジダン頭突き事件後にイタリア国内のテレビ番組でこの侮辱発言に関して、「お前の姉貴より娼婦のほうがましだ」と発言していたことを認めていた。 2016.07.09 14:47 Sat
