イングランド代表の家族にFAがカタールの状況を説明…服装や振る舞いなど問題を起こさない予防措置

イングランド代表の選手たちを支える家族の存在だが、本大会を観戦に行くかどうかは難しい判断になるようだ。

開幕まで2カ月を切ったカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)。今回は、史上初の冬開催となり、さらに中東での初の開催となる。イレギュラーなことが多く、ヨーロッパではシーズン真っ只中での開催で調整が難しいとも考えられ、選手のケガやコンディションの問題も懸念されている。

そんな中、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は、選手だけでなく、家族に対しての説明会を開催することを決定したようだ。

イギリス『デイリー・メール』によると、FAは26日にもイングランド代表の選手たちの家族と面会をする予定があるとのこと。ウェンブリー・スタジアムで行われるドイツ代表とのUEFAネーションズリーグの前に、W杯に同行することに備えた、安全性と異なる文化への対応を説明するためだという。

世界各国では、多くの宗教が存在しており、それぞれの国で文化が大きく異なることは誰もが知るところ。しかし、中東諸国となれば、その様相も一変してくる。

まず最も気をつけるべきは服装だ。イスラム教を国教とするカタールにおいては、厳しい戒律があり、露出の高い服装は不適切とされている。これはイスラム教徒に限らず、外国人渡航者にとっても同じこととされている。

イスラム教徒以外に強制されることはないものの、不快感を与えるとされ、注意を受けることもあるという。特に女性は、肌を露出する服装や体のラインがハッキリと現れる服、透ける素材の服装は避けるべきとされ、男性でも極端に短い短パンやランニングシャツなどは避けるべきとされている。

冬開催と言いながらもカタールの気温は最高気温が25〜30度という状況。12月でも25度前後はあるため、寒いとは言い難い。そのため、ラフな格好をしたくなるのだが、それは禁止。気をつける必要があるという。

その他にも、多くの違反を避けるためのマニュアルを作って説明をすると見られており、無駄な口論や問題を起こさないための措置を取るという。

ただ、イングランド代表の家族はあまりカタールに行かないという可能性も出てきており、ジョーダン・ヘンダーソン(リバプール)やエリック・ダイアー(トッテナム)などは否定的な見解をすでに示している。

これはイングランドに限った話ではなく、どの国の人にも当てはまること。問題を起こさないように、「郷に入っては郷に従え」ということになりそうだ。

イングランド代表の家族にFAがカタールの状況を説明…服装や振る舞いなど問題を起こさない予防措置

2025年最初のFIFAランク、大きく変動も日本は15位をキープ! 2位にスペイン、6位にオランダが浮上【FIFAランキング】
