カバーニ、先発チリ戦で負傷交代…右ふくらはぎのケガか

マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのウルグアイ代表FWエディンソン・カバーニが新たなケガを負ったようだ。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が報じた。

いよいよ残り2試合のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)南米予選に向け、今月の代表活動に参加したカバーニ。チームが本大会ストレートインの4位以内を決めた24日のペルー代表戦に途中出場するなど、今活動中の全2試合でプレーした。

だが、先発した29日のチリ代表では前半途中に右ふくらはぎを気にしながらピッチに座り込み、29分にベンチからスタートしたアトレティコ・マドリーのFWルイス・スアレスと交代している。

今季を迎えるにあたり、南米移籍も取り沙汰されながらユナイテッドと1年間の新契約を結び、残留したカバーニ。だが、度重なる故障にも苦しみ、ここまで公式戦17試合の出場のみと稼働率を悪くし、得点数も2ゴールにとどまっている。

そんな35歳のフィニッシャーは今回の代表活動に合流する前までもユナイテッドで負傷離脱が続き、12日に行われたプレミアリーグ第29節のトッテナム戦で復帰したばかりだった。

今回の代表ウィークが終わると、熾烈さを極めるプレミアリーグのトップ4争いに向けて、ギアを上げていく必要があるユナイテッドだが、ケガの程度でカバーニを頼りにできなさそうだ。

サプライヤーなしのウルグアイ代表が新ユニフォームを発表!男女平等促進のため紫色も取り入れた史上初のデザインに

「美しい」「たまらない」ウルグアイ代表が記念ユニフォームを発表!五輪初優勝から100周年「サプライヤーなしの方がいいじゃないか」
