アストン・ビラは25日、プレミアリーグ第6節でマンチェスター・ユナイテッドとオールド・トラッフォードで対戦した。序盤こそ後ろに重い状況が続いたが、次第に挽回。一進一退の攻防を見せ、試合終盤の88分にコートニー・ホースが先制点を挙げた。

このまま逃げ切りたいアウェイチームだったが、直後にユナイテッドにPKを献上。守護神マルティネスはクリスティアーノ・ロナウドがキッカーを務めると思ったのか、背番号「7」に向かって「かかってこいよ!」と自信たっぷりに叫んだ。

だが、実際にキッカーを務めたのはブルーノ・フェルナンデス。しかも、大きく枠を外し、ボールはゴール裏に陣取るユナイテッドサポーターへ向かって一直線。すると、マルティネスはサポーターの方を向き、あのダンスを披露した。

コパ・アメリカ2021のコロンビア代表戦でもPKストップの際に見せていたこのダンス。ファンからも「ダンス可愛いすぎ」、「ゴールパフォーマンスみたい」、「エミ、愛してる」といった声が寄せられた。

実際にセーブせずとも、失敗したならばマルティネスの勝ちだ。難を逃れたアストン・ビラはこのまま逃げ切り、リーグ戦3勝目を手にしている。

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ

アストン・ビラがイタリア代表MFニコロ・ザニオーロ(24)の買い取りを見送るようだ。昨夏ガラタサライから買い取りオプション付きのレンタル移籍でビラ入りしたザニオーロ。ローマで紆余曲折経験した若者は、ガラタサライ在籍半年でリーグ優勝に大きく貢献し、意気揚々とプレミアリーグの舞台に乗り込んだ。しかし、昨秋の賭博スキャンダルこそ”違法性なし”としてお咎めなしだったが、肝心のピッチでの活躍に乏しく、その数字は公式戦27試合2ゴール0アシスト。年明け以降の1試合最長プレータイムは「27分間」だ。イギリス『フットボール・インサイダー』によると、かねてより報じられていた通り、ザニオーロのレンタル契約は、特定の条件が満たされた場合に買い取りオプションが買い取り義務へ移行するものとなっているという。ビラはこれを回避したうえで、今季終了後にガラタサライへ送り返す方向で一致した模様。復調傾向にあるMFジェイコブ・ラムジー、今冬獲得のFWモーガン・ロジャーズ、来季は2人をより積極的に起用する思惑とされている。つい先日には、イタリア代表のルチアーノ・スパレッティ監督から、ビラでの出番減を理由にユーロ2024本大会のメンバー落選も示唆されたザニオーロ。まだ若くチカラも伸びしろもある...芯のある男にならねばならない。 2024.02.26 14:00 Mon
