ローマのジョゼ・モウリーニョ監督が、ユーロ2020決勝のトーナメント1回戦で敗退したフランス代表を批判した。

優勝候補の一角として大会に臨んだワールドカップ王者のフランス代表は、"死の組"と呼ばれたグループFを首位で突破し、6月28日に行われたラウンド16でスイスと対戦した。

先制されながらもFWカリム・ベンゼマの2得点とMFポール・ポグバのゴールで3-1と逆転したが、残り10分間で2点差を追いつかれると、PK戦の末に敗れた。
まさかの早期敗退となったフランスに対して、イギリス『talkSPORT』に出演したモウリーニョ監督は痛烈に批判。壮大なポテンシャルがあることを認めつつ、負けた原因を「傲慢になったこと」とコメントしている。

「フランスは傲慢になったが故に、世界チャンピオンと欧州チャンピオンの両方になるチャンスを失った」
「このチームには、他のチームとは比較にならないほどの素晴らしいポテンシャルがある。イングランドよりも、イタリアよりも良いチームだが、サッカーは彼らを罰した。それは当然のことなんだ」

「チームのパフォーマンスの問題ではない。彼らは1点ビハインドの状況で試合の流れを変え、20分の間に見事なサッカーでスイスを破壊した。おそらく今大会で最高のプレーだったよ」

「そして、サッカーは彼らに罰を与えた。彼らの(得点時の)喜び方、反応の仕方、デシャン監督が行った選手交代に対してだ」

また、スイス戦の終盤で行った守備的な采配に関しても非難し、本来はフランスの方が格上だったと強調した。

「グリーズマンを下げてのシソコの投入は、延長戦に突入しないことを想定した選手交代だったのだろう」

セネガル出身のエヴラ氏、フランス代表入りを後悔「過去に戻れるならセネガルを選ぶ」

かつて世界最高の左サイドバックの1人と言われたパトリス・エヴラ氏が、フランス代表を選択した過去を後悔していると口にした。ナイジェリア『Sports Brief』が伝えている。 セネガルの首都ダカールで生を受けるも、育ちはフランスというエヴラ氏。現役時代はマンチェスター・ユナイテッドで長く活躍し、5度のプレミアリーグ優勝のほか、2007-08シーズンには主軸としてチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)制覇に貢献している。 フランス代表としては通算81キャップ。だが、主将として臨んだ2010年の南アフリカ・ワールドカップ(W杯)では、チームの内紛が練習ボイコットにまで発展し、自身も大会終了前にチームから追放されるなど、クラブキャリアの成功に比べると、苦い思い出が多い。 そんなエヴラ氏は先日、西アフリカでの自身のサッカー事業の一環として訪れたガーナで、同国のナナ・アクフォ=アド大統領と会談。その中で、母国セネガルではなくフランス代表を選んだことを後悔していると語ったという。 「過去に戻れるならフランスではなく、生まれ故郷のセネガルを代表する道を選ぶでしょう。私はダカールで生まれましたが、フランスで育ちました」 「この選択で私が学んだ苦痛な教訓は、良いプレーをして勝利した時はフランス人として称賛され、チームが負けようものならセネガル人として扱われることです」 「私はアフリカの今の若い世代に、君たちが自分の生まれた国でのプレーを選んでも、成功への扉は開いている。ということを伝えていかなくてはなりません」 前述のW杯での一件もあってか、現在もなお、フランス代表に対して良く思っていないことをうかがわせた格好だ。 2022.09.17 17:12 Sat

大会公式は谷川萌々子を注目選手に!U-19日本女子がフランスでのSUD Ladies Cupに臨む
