イングランド代表MFカルヴァン・フィリップスが同代表のMFジョーダン・ヘンダーソンの復帰を歓迎した。イギリス『リバプール・エコー』が伝えている。

ヘンダーソンは2月のプレミアリーグで負傷して以降出場機会のないままシーズンを終えたが、ガレス・サウスゲイト監督は同選手のキャプテンシーを高く評価し、ユーロ2020の代表メンバーに招集。この決断について、ロイ・キーン氏やガブリエル・アグボンラホール氏は痛烈な批判を行った。

グループステージ開幕から2試合こそ出番のなかったヘンダーソンだが、最終節のチェコ戦では後半45分間プレー。コンディションを戻しつつあり、29日に行われるラウンド16ドイツ代表戦では先発出場を予想する声もある。
ドイツ戦の記者会見に出席したフィリップスも、ヘンダーソンの復帰を歓迎。チームにとって必要な選手だと称えている。

「ジョーダンはここ2、3週間、僕たちと一緒に練習を重ねてきた。だから、彼が戻ってくるからといって新鮮な感じは特にないね」
「ジョーダンはイングランドにとって必要不可欠である優秀な選手だ。僕は彼がチームに戻ってくることを期待していたよ。チームでは誰が起用されても、誰が起用されなくても、お互いにサポートし合うことが大切なんだ」

ヘンダーソン復帰を歓迎したフィリップスだが、一方で自分のポジションを譲りたくないとコメント。少しでも多くの時間、ユーロでプレーできることを願った。

「僕はこの大会、十分なことをしてきたと思うし、そう思われていることを願う。この大会では、できるだけ多くプレーすることが僕の目標の1つだった。グループステージの3試合では、多くのプレー時間を得られて本当に素晴らしかったよ」

「今の僕は立ち止まりたくないと思っている。この状態を続けていきたいね」

FIFA公式がロシアW杯ベストイレブンを発表! ヤングやパウリーニョら“クセがすごい”選出も…

「消化できていない」スターリングと代表合宿中に喧嘩したジョー・ゴメスが初めて事件を語る

ブリッジは“不倫男”テリーを未だに許さず? 自身の近くに引っ越し発覚後、自宅を売却に出す

元イングランド代表DFのウェイン・ブリッジ氏は、チェルシー時代に自身の元恋人と不倫関係にあった元イングランド代表DFのジョン・テリー氏を未だに許してないのかもしれない。イギリス『サン』が報じている。 ブリッジ氏とテリー氏は、同じ39歳でチェルシーとイングランド代表で共闘してきた親友だった。しかし、2010年1月にブリッジ氏が当時交際し、1人の息子をもうけていたヴァネッサ・プロンセルと、既婚のテリー氏に不倫疑惑が持ち上がり、両者の関係は完全に破綻。 この騒動がキッカケでテリー氏はイングランド代表キャプテンをはく奪され、ブリッジ氏も“不倫男”との共闘を望まず、代表辞退という重い決断を下していた。 さらに、不倫問題発覚後、初の直接対決となった試合では当時マンチェスター・シティに在籍していたブリッジ氏が、試合前の握手を拒否。さらに、シティのチームメイトだった元アルゼンチン代表FWカルロス・テベスが、得点直後にテリー氏の前に立ちはだかってブリッジ氏を指さすパフォーマンスを見せるなど、大きな話題をさらっていた。 その後、ブリッジ氏は2013年に現在の妻であるイギリス人歌手のフランキーサンド・フォードさんと結婚し、2人の息子を授かっている。 その事件から10年が経った今年に入って両氏は、再びメディアの話題に挙がることに。 『サン』が伝えるところによれば、テリー氏は今年4月にロンドン近郊のサリーに430万ポンド(約6億円)の邸宅を購入し、すでに引っ越しも済ませているという。 そして、その新居から数分の距離にはブリッジ氏と家族が住む550万ポンド(約7億6000万円)の邸宅があった。 しかし、同メディアによると、ブリッジ夫妻はテリー氏の引っ越しが原因かは不明なものの、現在その自宅を売りに出しているという。 この動きに関してある関係者は、「ウェインとジョンは明らかに最高の友人とは言えない。今は不動産市場に不確実性があるが、ウェインとフランキーは新たなスタートを求めている。そして、現在の場所から少し離れた場所に引っ越しをすることを決めた」と、説明している。 今回の引っ越しは単なる偶然の可能性が高そうだが、ブリッジはやはり“不倫男”を許していないのか…。 2020.08.05 15:02 Wed
