今シーズンのバルセロナで好調を維持し、およそ2年半ぶりの招集を受けたFWウスマーヌ・デンベレは2列目の右で先発。20分にFWアントニー・マルシャルのラストパスをボックス右で受けたデンベレが右足でゴール左へシュートを蹴り込み、先制点をマークした。

見事ディディエ・デシャン監督の起用に応えたデンベレだったが、74分には少し恥ずかしい場面も。右CKのキッカーを担ったデンベレは、蹴る瞬間に軸足の左足を滑らせ、ボールに触れてしまったことで軌道がずれ、キックはそのままゴールラインを割っていった。デンベレ本人も尻餅をつく羽目になってしまった。

アスタナ・アリーナで行われたこの試合では、マルシャルも人工芝に足を取られて左ヒザを痛めており、デンベレもその影響を受けた模様。キックの後には芝を気にする素振りを見せていた。

デンベレのCKシーンは複数の海外メディアでも報じられており、イギリス『caughtoffside』は「デンベレがホラーコーナーでピッチの犠牲になった」と伝えたほか、スペイン『フットボール・エスパーニャ』では「デンベレが印象的な方法でフランスのコーナーキックを台無しにした」と伝えている。

それでも、デシャン監督は試合後のインタビューでデンベレのパフォーマンスを称賛している。
