イングランド代表FWマーカス・ラッシュフォードの負傷による長期離脱を受け、今冬に新たなストライカーの獲得に乗り出したユナイテッド。その候補者の名前が挙がるばかりで、なかなか形にならない日々が続いたが、移籍市場最終日に上海申花から元ワトフォードのイガロを買取オプションなしの半年レンタルで獲得した。
その当初こそ苦肉のイガロ獲得だとする声が多かったが、ここまで公式戦8試合に出場して4得点1アシストを記録。『サン』によれば、2017年1月から活躍先とした中国で週30万ポンド(約3800万円)の高額給与を手にする日々を送っていたが、実にその40%の減額条件を承諾してまでのユナイテッド行きだったという。
しかし、給与減額を補填する形で様々なインセンティブが存在。イガロは1ゴールにつき8000ポンド(約100万円)が支払われ、自身がメンバー入りしたプレミアリーグの試合でチームが勝利すると、9000ポンド(約110万円)をゲットでき、引き分けでも3000ポンド(約38万円)を受け取るなどの各種ボーナスがあるようだ。

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす
