マンチェスター・ユナイテッドとメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のファンが喜ぶ1枚だ。ロサンゼルス・ギャラクシーのメキシコ代表FWハビエル・エルナンデスが25日に自身のSNSを更新。「久しぶりに再会できてうれしい。ピッチの中や外で共有したすべての思い出に感謝したい。あなたの成功を祈っています」と元チームメイトとの2ショットを投稿。その人物とは、元イングランド代表FWのウェイン・ルーニー氏だった。

チチャリートことハビエル・エルナンデスは、2010年夏にユナイテッドへと完全移籍。主力だったルーニーともに二度のプレミアリーグ優勝にも貢献。その後はレアル・マドリーへのレンタル移籍やレバークーゼン、セビージャなどを経て、2020年からMLSの看板選手として活躍している。
一方のルーニー氏は、2017年までユナイテッドでプレーした後、古巣のエバートンを経て2018年から2年間MLSのDCユナイテッドでプレー。2022年夏からは同クラブの監督を務めている。

2023シーズンの開幕を目前に控えた中、別々のチームの選手と監督という立場で2人は再会。そんな2人の2ショットにはファンも喜んでおり、「3歳差には見えないな」、「いい時代だった」、「最高の写真」とコメントを寄せている。

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

C・ロナウドの母が息子への願望を語る「私が死ぬ前に、スポルティングへ」

「後悔が1つある」カントナが“カンフーキック”事件を回顧「もっと強く蹴っていれば…」
