元ドイツ代表MFのディートマー・ハマン氏がドイツ代表DFアントニオ・リュディガーに対し苦言を呈した。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が伝えている。

23日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)グループE第1節でドイツは日本と対戦。前半は試合を圧倒的に支配し1-0で折り返したものの、後半にシステムを変えた日本の反撃に遭うと、堂安律と浅野拓磨にゴールを許し逆転負け。まさかの2大会連続での初戦負けとなった。

この試合では、前半から何度も日本の守備陣に立ちはだかったリュディガーだが、1点リードで迎えた63分には物議を醸す場面があった。

右サイド裏への突破を図った浅野に対応したリュディガーは、並走しながら両足を高く上げ、腕も大きく振るモーションを披露。浅野の前に体を入れ、攻撃の芽を摘むと、ニヤリと笑っていた。

「ABEMA」で解説を務めた本田圭佑も「いや、でもちょっと今のは性格悪い。ちょっとバカにした走り方してた」と指摘した走り。リュディガーはクラブでもこの走り方を披露したことがあるが、舐めたプレーとも取れるものだった。

これにはドイツ代表のレジェンドであるハマン氏も苦言を呈している。

「リュディガーは足を上げてドヤ顔したんだ。相手を軽んじてはいけない。必ずいつか返ってくる」

「全くもってプロではなかったと思う。常軌を逸していたとよ。傲慢だ。彼は笑っていたが、今笑っているのは1つのチーム(日本)だけだ」

結果的にその後逆転を許したドイツ代表。リュディガーとしては日本の心を折る算段もあったのかもしれないが。逆に日本の火をつけることになったかもしれない。
