EFLリーグ2(イングランド4部)に所属するサルフォード・シティは8日、かつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドやイングランド代表で活躍したデイビッド・ベッカム氏とギャリー・ネビル氏が率いるコンソーシアムに買収されたことを発表した。 マンチェスターのサルフォードに拠点を置くサルフォード・シティは、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドで活躍し92年組として知られるライアン・ギグス氏、ポール・スコールズ氏、ニッキー・バット氏、フィリップ・ネビル氏が2014年にオーナーとなり、5シーズンで4回の昇格を経験した。 2018-19シーズンにEFLリーグ2に昇格を果たしたが、そこから上には上がれておらず。今シーズンもEFLリーグ2で8位となり、昇格プレーオフを最終節で逃す形となっていた。 そんな中、ベッカム氏、ギャリー・ネビル氏に加え、アメリカ在住の実業家のデクラン・ケリー氏、マーヴィン・デイヴィス卿がグループに入っている。 サルフォード・シティによれば、新たな株主たちはクラブと施設に多額の投資を行うという約束が入っているとのことだ。 なお、ギグス氏、スコールズ氏、バット氏、フィル・ネビル氏は引き続き「テクニカル、フットボール、コマーシャル、リクルート、SCFC財団」の各部門でクラブに関与していくとのこと。92年組が勢揃いすることとなった。 また、新しいコンソーシアムは、インドを拠点とするドリーム・スポーツ・グループ、コリン・ライアン、フランク・ライアン、ニック・ウッドハウス、シュラビン・ミッタルを含む9人の株主で構成されている。 ベッカム氏は「私はサルフォードで育った。そこで過ごした日々には、本当に素敵な思い出がある。この場所と人々は、私のサッカー人生の初期において、とても重要な役割を果たしてくれた。サルフォード・シティは地域社会の中心であり、豊かな歴史を誇る。その新たな章に加わることができ、大変嬉しく思う」とコメントしている。 ギャリー・ネビル氏も「サルフォード・シティに情熱を注いでいる。多様な才能と専門知識を持つメンバーが、サッカーへの愛で結ばれた、他に類を見ないパートナーシップだ。サッカーが最優先だが、今後4～5年でクラブを持続可能な方向へ導くことが不可欠だ。この旅の次の段階が待ちきれない」と、かつての仲間とともにチームを発展させていくことを誓った。 2025.05.08 20:55 Thu

ベッカム氏の次男ロメオが2度目の現役引退…今度は母ヴィクトリアさんと同じ道へ

「父のようで息子でもある」 イブラが過去に4チームで同僚だった大親友と再会

「神と神」メッシとイブラヒモビッチがパリで再会!笑顔での肩組みショットに「今はどんな関係性なんだろ」

パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)からカタールのアル・アラビへと完全移籍したイタリア代表MFマルコ・ヴェッラッティ(30)だが、パリを追われた背景にはライフスタイルの問題があったようだ。フランス『Le Parisien』が報じている。 2012年夏にペスカーラからPSGへと完全移籍したヴェッラッティ。以降は11年間在籍し、クラブ史上2位となる公式戦416試合に出場。在籍期間にビッグイヤー獲得はならずも、30個もの国内タイトル獲得に貢献してきた。 ただ、今シーズンから就任したルイス・エンリケ監督の下では完全に構想外となり、開幕からベンチ外が続いて先月13日にカタールへ新天地を求めることになった。 その構想外の経緯に関しては、近年稼働率の低さや高年俸、クラブとして世代交代が必要だったなどいくつかの原因が語られてきたが、一番の問題は同選手のライフスタイルの問題にあったようだ。 『Le Parisien』によると、ルイス・エンリケ監督は当初、ヴェッラッティのプレースタイルやピッチ上でのパフォーマンスを気に入っていたようだが、リクルート部門を取り仕切るルイス・カンポス氏や既存のスタッフからの評判、プレシーズンの短期間での仕事を通じて、同選手のプロフェッショナリズムやライフスタイルの問題を把握したという。 そして、イタリア代表MFに構想外を言い渡した際には、「君は私が嫌いなプレーヤーの原型だ」との過激な言葉を伝えていたとのことだ。 ヴェッラッティは以前から体重管理の問題、過度な喫煙や飲酒といった素行面が不興を買っており、それがスペイン人指揮官の下での構想外に繋がったようだ。 2023.10.04 23:08 Wed

スパイク裏を顔面に受けたドンナルンマがひどい裂傷、数日間の離脱と追加検査に
