日本代表が15日に埼玉スタジアム2002で行われる2026年北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア最終予選のオーストラリア代表戦に向け、帰国後のトレーニング2日目に励んだ。
アウェイのサウジアラビア代表戦も無失点勝利で攻略してみせ、3連勝で首位をひた走る森保ジャパンは順調そのものだが、セルティックMF旗手怜央はなかなか出番が巡ってこず。先のサウジアラビア戦ではサブに入ったが、森保一監督から最後まで声がかからなかった。
26歳は「そういう現状にしっかり目を向けてやりつつ、やっぱりチームが勝つこと、W杯の出場権を勝ち取るのが最優先。そこに向けて、しっかり自分のやるべきことをやっていきたいなと思う」と前を向く。
そのなかで、試合に出た際のイメージも含まらせるといい、「出るんだとしたら、自分としてはシャドーでプレーしたいと思う。シャドーのところでプレーできるのであれば、いつも自チームでやってることプラス、ここのチームで求められることをしっかりやっていきたい」と話す。
出られずとも監督をはじめ、コーチ陣とはコミュニケーションを図り、「内容は言わないけど、そういう個人的な話はしているし、そういった部分をまず代表でしっかりやるっていうのプラス、自チームに戻ったらまたやっていければいい」と述べた。
「監督が変わったばっかりなんで、前節の試合は結構多めに見たけど、ボールを奪った後の切り替えっていう部分がやっぱり早く、前にやっぱりでかい選手がいたり、その下に技術がある選手がいたりする」

飲酒運転で事故…三笘薫や上田綺世らとユニバーシアード代表で対戦したKリーグ選手が契約解除、近年続発中

札幌DF田中駿汰が結婚を発表「こんなに人を好きになったのは初めてです」

日本戦まで1カ月弱…中国代表が新たな“帰化選手”用意も9月招集は50-50か 既存の帰化組にパリ五輪世代を本格融合へ
