4日前の前節ラージョ・バジェカーノ戦を引き分け、3勝3分けスタートとなったアトレティコは、3日後にレアル・マドリーとのダービーを控えるなか、ラージョ戦のスタメンから4選手を変更。シメオネ監督の息子ジュリアーノが左MFで今季初スタメンとなった。
3勝3敗スタートのセルタに対し、フラットな[4-4-2]で臨んだアトレティコは10分にピンチ。自陣左サイドを突かれた流れからスウェードベリに決定機を許したが、シュートミスに救われた。

シティがアルバレス加入を正式発表! 背番号は19番に決定
