ポルトガル代表がユーロ2024のベスト8に駒を進めた。

ポルトガルは1日のラウンド16でスロベニア代表と対戦し、0-0で90分の戦いが終了。延長戦を挟み、GKジオゴ・コスタの3連続ストップが光ったPK戦の末に辛うじて次のラウンドに進出した。

イギリス『BBC』によると、先発したFWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドは「最初は悲しみ、最後は喜び。それがフットボールだ。説明しがたい瞬間さ」と喜んだ。

そんなC・ロナウドだが、延長前半のPKチャンスでキッカーに名乗りを上げたが、GKヤン・オブラクの前に失敗。試合中にもかかわらず、涙する姿もあった。

「(PKシーンは)チームにリードをもたらす直接的なシュートだった。でも、僕はできなかった。オブラクは良いセーブをした。あのPKを見返してみないといけない。シュートの良し悪しはわからないけど、今年は1度もミスしていなかったのに、最も必要なときにセーブされてしまった」

ただ、最終的にはポルトガルの勝利。この結果についても「ポルトガルが優勢だったし、この勝利に値する」とし、守護神を含め、全員が称賛に値すると語った。

「スロベニアは試合を通してよく守り、すごく難しい試合だったけど、チームの全員、特に3回も素晴らしいセーブをした僕らのGKを称賛するべきだ」

苦しみながらも8強入りのポルトガルはフランス代表とベスト4進出をかけて激突する。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】
