近年苦しいカルヴァン・フィリップス

イングランド代表MFカルヴァン・フィリップス(28)がマンチェスター・シティへレンタルバックする見通しだ。

リーズ・ユナイテッド時代にとてつもない存在感を放ったフィリップス。長短のパスを正確に散らしてフィールドを掌握し、2022-23シーズンに26歳でシティへの栄転を勝ち取った。

しかし、待っていたのはベンチ生活。待てど暮らせどロドリゴ・エルナンデスの牙城を崩せず、とうとう今年1月でレンタル放出に。東ロンドンはウェストハムへやって来たが、ここではパフォーマンスが上がらず、評価が著しく低い。

イギリス『フットボール・インサイダー』によると、ウェストハム首脳陣はすでにシティへの予定通りの返却を決定。買い取りは頭の片隅にもないものとみられている。

シティで控えながらもイングランド代表に継続招集されてきたフィリップスも、ユーロ2024メンバー発表前最後のテストマッチが組まれた3月でとうとう落選。このままでは本大会行きはない。完全移籍かシティ帰還はともかく、なんとか今季中に状態を上げねばならない状況だ。

イングランド代表招集歴もあるDFが27歳で代表キャリアスタートか? ワン=ビサカがDRコンゴ代表に初招集

ウェストハムのDFアーロン・ワン=ビサカ(27)が、DRコンゴ代表に初招集された。ロンドン生まれのワン=ビサカは、クリスタル・パレスの下部組織で育ち2018年1月にファーストチームに昇格。2019年7月にはマンチェスター・ユナイテッドへと移籍し、右サイドバックとして活躍した。今シーズンからウェストハムに完全移籍。ユナイテッドでは出番が減っていた中、プレミアリーグで33試合に出場し2ゴール3アシストを記録。FAカップ、カラバオカップ(EFLカップ)でも1試合ずつ出場した。そのワン=ビサカだが、これまでは世代別のイングランド代表とDRコンゴ代表の経験はあった中、初めてA代表に選出。DRコンゴ代表に招集された。 2019年9月にガレス・サウスゲイト監督の下、イングランド代表に招集を受けたが、背中の負傷もあり離脱。試合に出場しないまま、その後はお声がかからなかった。 DRコンゴ代表は6月5日にマリ代表、同8日にマダガスカル代表と親善試合を戦う。今年12月に予定されている2026年北中米ワールドカップ予選と、アフリカ・ネーションズカップに向けた準備であり、DRコンゴ代表にとっては大きな戦力になると期待されている。 1974年にザイール時代にW杯に出場しているが、DRコンゴとしては出場停止ない状況。現在6試合を終えてセネガル代表に勝ち点差1をつけた首位に立っている。 2025.05.10 21:25 Sat

プレミアがギャンブル系胸スポンサー禁止で合意、2025-26シーズンが期限…中堅以下の8クラブはどうする?
