この3月にコロンビア代表&ブラジル代表と連戦のスペイン。22日にロンドンで行われたコロンビア戦では後半終盤にバルセロナの17歳新星パウ・クバルシをデビューさせたが、61分に浴びたダニエル・ムニョスの一発が重くのしかかり、0-1で敗北した。

2022年12月に着任したルイス・デ・ラ・フエンテ監督にとって、2023年3月のスコットランド代表戦以来となる黒星で2敗目に。スペイン『マルカ』によると、「勝ちからよりも負けからの方が学びが多い」とし、敗戦試合を振り返った。
「厳しい試合になるのは想定内だった。前半は良かったが、後半は改善すべき点がある。選手を見極めるべく、いくつかのテストがしたかった。だが、これからも歩み、改善し続ける必要がある」

「彼らに許したスペースをルイス・ディアスらに使われ、彼らのフットボールをさせるオプションを与えてしまった。ハメスも非常に積極的で、多くのアクションを起こし、我々をより苦しめたね」
「前半はゴールを決められたはずだし、少しゲームをコントロールするのもできたはずだが、後半はそうできなかった」

また、アレックス・レミロ、ダニ・ビビアン、そしてクバルシのデビューにも「嬉しく思う。経験を積ませたかった。彼らは将来有望だし、我々が勝ち点を争うときのためにこういう試合でチャンスを与えたかったんだ」と話した。

26日にマドリードで行われるブラジル代表戦ではより結果が求められ、「我々はもうブラジル戦のことを考えているし、同じことが二度と起こらないように今日の試合で修正できるところを修正している。火曜日は良い状態でユーロに向かう新たな一歩になる」と語った。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「まだ泣くの早いって」と本田圭佑にツッコまれた日本代表サポーター、元Jリーガーの親友だった「親友が世界的にバズってて最高」

「激アツ」「どっちも可愛い」長谷川唯の“激レア”スペイン代表ユニフォーム姿が話題! イニエスタにも例えられるボンマティの日本代表ユニも話題「なんかエモい」

ペドリが後輩ガビとの関係語る 「チャビとイニエスタのようなコンビに…」
