新生スペイン代表から落選したパウ・トーレス、ショック受けるも切り替え「監督は僕をよく知ってる」
ビジャレアルのDFパウ・トーレスが、スペイン代表メンバーからの落選にショックを受けたことを明かした。 パウ・トーレスは昨シーズンのチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でベスト4進出という快進撃を見せたビジャレアルの主軸センターバック。ビッグクラブ行きの噂もある26歳で、スペイン代表としてはカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の本大会メンバーに選出されている。 しかし、そのカタールW杯での出場はグループステージ第3節で日本代表に敗れた1試合のみ。自身を継続的に招集してきたルイス・エンリケ監督は大会後に退任し、ルイス・デ・ラ・フエンテ新監督の初陣となった先月末のユーロ2024予選2試合ではまさかのメンバー外となった。 スペイン『Cadena Ser』のインタビューでこのことを問われたパウ・トーレスは、招集リストに自らの名前がないと知ったときの率直な心境を明かしている。 「監督の決定をコントロールすることはできない。僕は初めてスペイン代表に入った年からAチームだったし、これからもそうあり続けるために戦うつもりでいたから、難しい瞬間になったよ」 一方、U-24スペイン代表時代に選手と指揮官として東京五輪をともに戦ったデ・ラ・フエンテ監督から声をかけられるべく、努力を惜しまないとも語っている。 「ルイス・エンリケの下ではハッピーだったよ。デ・ラ・フエンテのサッカーでも試合を楽しむことができた。彼は僕をよく知ってくれているよ。もし、彼が自分のチームのパフォーマンスに納得できない場合、そのときは僕がそれを与えることができるよう頑張りたい」 2023.04.07 20:42 Fri

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

元スペイン代表GKカニサレス氏、5歳の息子の逝去を発表…「息子は平穏な中で旅立った」

ピケ主催の7人制サッカーでアグエロvsカシージャスの豪華レジェンド対決が実現!PKではなくシュートアウトで直接対峙
