28日、第1回UEFA女子ネーションズリーグ(UWNL)の3位決定戦、オランダ女子代表vsドイツ女子代表がオランダのアベ・レンストラ・スタディオンで行われ、0-2でドイツ代表が勝利を収めた。

今大会は、パリ・オリンピックの欧州予選も兼ねており、五輪開催国のフランスを除いた上位2カ国に出場権が与えられる。

フランスが決勝に進出したため、この試合の勝者がパリ行きの切符を手にするという状況の一戦は、準決勝でスペインの後塵を拝したオランダが7分にヴィーケ・カプテインのミドルと、この日最初の好機を迎えた。

だが、以降は速攻からのサイド攻撃で盛り返したドイツの流れが続き、25分にはシェーケ・ニュスケンの反転シュートが左ポストを叩くと、折り返しての49分には後半頭から投入されたレア・シュラーがネットを揺らす。これはオフサイドと判定されたが、徐々にゴールに近づき始めたドイツは66分に均衡を破る。

中盤でのボール奪取からショートカウンターへ転じると、持ち運んだレナ・オーバードルフが敵陣中央から右前方のスペースを使い、右ポケットからユーレ・ブラントがクロス。クリアされたボールをオーバードルフが頭でつなぎ、最後はクララ・ビュールが蹴り込んだ。

なおも攻勢続くドイツは78分、CKの二次攻撃から追加点を奪取。跳ね返れたボールをキッカーのビュールが自ら拾ってシンプルに上げると、シュラーが頭で合わせてネットを揺らす。

このまま逃げ切ったドイツが2-0で勝利し、3位入賞とともに、優勝したリオ・デ・ジャネイロ大会以来となる2大会ぶり6度目のオリンピック出場権を獲得した。

「目が死んでる」意地の勝利もW杯敗退のドイツ、ハヴァーツがコスタリカ戦のMOMに選ばれるも虚無の表情「そりゃこうなる」
