これがちょっとした悲劇を起こすことに。グループステージの結果にかかわらずFIFAは勝利したドイツのプレーヤー・オブ・ザ・マッチ(POTM)を選出。2ゴールを挙げたハヴァーツが選ばれ、記念のトロフィーが与えられた。

「今朝言われた」試合当日にFW起用を知らされたメリーノがアーセナルを救う2ゴール! アシストのヌワネリを称賛「僕はただ得点するだけ」
