「目が死んでる」意地の勝利もW杯敗退のドイツ、ハヴァーツがコスタリカ戦のMOMに選ばれるも虚無の表情「そりゃこうなる」

1日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)グループE最終節が行われた。コスタリカ代表と対戦したドイツ代表は4-2で意地の今大会初勝利。同時刻に行われていた日本代表vsスペイン代表の結果次第では決勝トーナメント進出が叶う状況だった。だが、日本がスペイン相手に逆転勝利。その結果ドイツの逆転突破は叶わず、2大会連続でのグループステージ敗退となった。

これがちょっとした悲劇を起こすことに。グループステージの結果にかかわらずFIFAは勝利したドイツのプレーヤー・オブ・ザ・マッチ(POTM)を選出。2ゴールを挙げたハヴァーツが選ばれ、記念のトロフィーが与えられた。

だが、すでにグループステージ敗退を知っているハヴァーツに笑顔はなく、記念撮影はお通夜状態に。ハヴァーツの表情は言葉にできないむなしさを感じさせた。

その姿はW杯の公式SNSでも投稿されているが、案の定ファンからは「顔死んでる」、「目が死んでる」、「魂抜けてる」、「微塵も嬉しくないやろな…」、「そりゃこうなる」とハヴァーツの表情に注目が集まっている。

決まり事とはいえ、ハヴァーツにとって酷な出来事だった。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)では、日本代表とも対戦するドイツ代表だが、その“愛称”について議論がなされている。 2014年のブラジルW杯では優勝を果たしているドイツ代表。チームの愛称として「Die Mannschaft(ディー・マンシャフト)」が採用されている。これはW杯制覇後の2015年にドイツ代表のマネージャーを務めるオリバー・ビアホフ氏が呼称として導入したもの。意味は「これがチームだ」というものだが、廃止の方向で話が進んでいる。ドイツサッカー連盟(DFB)のベルント・ノイエンドルフ会長は、この呼称について終わる可能性があることを20日にコメント。7月末に結論を出すという。「終わりが来る。7月末に責任機関の会合が開かれ、決定が確実に下される。終わりのない話には興味がない」「今回の定性調査では、我々のイメージを固め、意見をまとめることができるはずだ。ただ、調査に依存することはない」この言葉の生みの親とも言われるビアホフ氏は「我慢すれば良い」と会長の決定を受け入れることを示唆。日本と対戦するときにはもう使われない愛称となっていそうだ。 2022.06.21 14:30 Tue
