連覇を目指す神戸は17日の国立競技場で行われるFUJIFILM SUPER CUP 2024で天皇杯覇者の川崎フロンターレと対戦。今季最初の公式戦であり、1つ目のタイトルがかかった試合になる。
今季から正式に主将を務める山口蛍も「もちろん、勝ちにいきたい。『やっと新シーズンが始まるんだな』というワクワクした気持ちでいる」と闘志をたぎらせた。
そんな神戸は大半の主力が残りつつ、選手層を底上げ。即戦力級では復帰の岩波拓也をはじめ、オビ・パウエル・オビンナや、広瀬陸斗、鍬先祐弥、井手口陽介、宮代大聖の獲得に成功した。
ACLとの並行も睨んでの戦力アップ。33歳MFは「昨シーズンのベースは変わらないし、昨年にいた選手もほとんどいる」とし、新戦力に関しても試合をこなしていきながら馴染んでいければと語った。
今季は周囲のマークが厳しくなりそうだが、昨季の苦戦した試合を振り返りながら「自分たちの新しい形を少しずつ見せていければ。それを見せられるような新しいキャラクターが入ったのは間違いないし、試合をやりながらうまく解決していきたい」と述べた。
今季一発目の公式戦で相対する川崎Fはというと、今オフの入退団で顔ぶれに大きな変化が。山口も「今までの川崎にないフレッシュなイメージ」と印象を明かし、戦いぶりも変化を感じるようだ。
「ACLを観ていても、前からプレッシャーをかけてくるし、今までにないような迫力感があった。今のJリーグはどちらかというと、うちもだけど、前からプレッシャーをかけてくるチームが多くなっている」
「それにより近い形に川崎もなってきているのかなと思う。そのなかでも、川崎は個々の選手のクオリティが高い。僕は昨シーズンより手強いかなという気がしている」

「決してふざけてるわけでもない」背番号を96に変更し話題の山口蛍が想いを綴る…C大阪時代の盟友は「初めて選手のユニフォームを買うことになりそう」とコメント

J1王者神戸が背番号発表! 新戦力のMF井手口陽介は「7」、FW宮代大聖は「9」、MF山口蛍が「96」に変更
