オーストラリアのAリーグ・メンは、グランドファイナルの代替として、1都市で複数試合を行うユナイトラウンドを12日から14日にシドニーで開催。アデレード・ユナイテッドは13日にアリアンツ・スタジアムでシドニーFCと対戦した。

指宿は最前線で先発出場。3得点1アシストと圧巻のパフォーマンスを披露し、4-3の勝利に貢献した。

1点ビハインドの24分にベン・ハロランの折り返しを左足で流し込み、同点ゴールをマークすると、34分には再びハロランの落としから逆転弾。コントロールからの見事な切り返しでDFをかわし、左足でネットを揺らす。

前半のアディショナルタイム5分には左へ流れて裏を取り、グラウンダーの絶妙なクロスでネストリ・イランクンダのゴールをお膳立てすると、折り返しての73分には195cmの長身を生かしたヘディング弾でハットトリックを達成した。

柏レイソルの育成組織で育った指宿は、ジローナでトップチームキャリアをスタート。スペイン、ベルギーでのプレーを経て、2014年7月にアルビレックス新潟でJリーグデビューを果たす。以降は、ジェフユナイテッド千葉、湘南ベルマーレ、清水エスパルスを渡り歩き、2022年にアデレード・ユナイテッド入り。

オーストラリアでは2021–22シーズンで公式戦6得点、昨季は9得点を挙げ、今季は今試合のハットトリックで7得点目に。さらなる数字の積み上げが期待される。

元オーストラリア代表DFのレイバット氏が遺体で発見…99年にベルマーレ平塚でプレー

ベルマーレ平塚でもプレーした元オーストラリア代表DFスティーブン・レイバットさん(46)が遺体で発見された。オーストラリア『シドニー・モーニング・ヘラルド』によると、レイバットさんは13日に家族から行方不明届が出されていたとのこと。12日に友人を訪ねるため、南東部シドニーから東部ブリスベン近郊のバイロン・ベイへ向かったものの、13日午前には家族と連絡が取れなくなっていたという。地元警察が大規模な捜索を行った結果、14日夜にバイロン・ベイからほど近いビーチ近くの低木林でレイバットさんの遺体が発見されたとのこと。現段階で死因や事件性の有無は公式には発表されていないものの、事件性は低いとみられている。レイバットさんは2000年のシドニー五輪にU-23オーストラリア代表として参加し、2000〜2004年にかけてはA代表で15試合出場。クラブキャリアでは1999年に短期間ながらもベルマーレ平塚(現:湘南ベルマーレ)でプレーし、オランダのフェイエノールト、ベルギーのヘントなどにも在籍経験を持つ。引退後は「現役時代にそんなことはできなかった」として2021年に同性愛をカミングアウト。同年には、病院のリハビリ病棟に勤務するなか、腎臓移植によって高齢男性の命を助けていた。レイバットさんの訃報を受け、元オーストラリア代表DFルーク・ウィルクシャー氏など、多くの関係者が哀悼の意をSNSなどで表明している。 2024.01.15 13:30 Mon
