パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のフランス代表MFウォーレン・ザイール=エメリが、レ・ブルーでの意気込みを語った。フランス『レキップ』が伝えている。

昨シーズンにPSGのクラブ最年少デビュー記録を塗り替えた万能型MFは、今シーズン開幕からルイス・エンリケ新監督の信頼を獲得し、ヨーロッパ屈指の強豪で主力としてプレー。その印象的なパフォーマンスが評価され、今月のインターナショナルマッチウィークでは1945年以降の同国代表最年少招集記録(17歳8カ月)を更新した。

その逸材は16日に行われた公式会見の場で、「今回の初めての記者会見は特に心配していなかったよ。口頭試験のように扱っているよ」とジョークを交えるなど、多くのメディアを前にしても物怖じすることない大物ぶりを見せつけた。
また、今回のジブラルタル代表戦かギリシャ代表戦に出場した場合、1911年以降の歴代最年少出場選手となるが、「それはまた別の記録になるね。 更新することができれば、とても嬉しいよ」と新たな年少記録更新に意気込みを見せた。

ティエリ・アンリ監督が率いるU-21フランス代表では飛び級ながらキャプテンを任され、エスポワールでの中心選手としての自覚芽生えるザイール=エメリだが、元フランス代表FWからは今後もレ・ブルーに定着することを求められているという。
「火曜日に彼(アンリ)と話したよ。彼は今回のことを本当に喜んでくれているんだ。だけど、彼は、フランス代表に入ることではなく、そこにとどまることが重要だと話してくれた。だから、それが僕にとっても今後の目標だ」

現在、フランス代表ではMFオーレリアン・チュアメニ、MFエドゥアルド・カマヴィンガと2人の主力を負傷で欠いており、ここで17歳MFがディディエ・デシャン監督に良いアピールができれば、来年のユーロ2024本大会のメンバー入りも十分に可能となるはずだ。

「W杯を感じない」「いまいち」フランス代表のW杯ユニフォームがシンプルすぎて不評、PRに起用したラッパーには不快感「理解できない」

王者は初心忘れず…フランス代表が初めて在籍したアマクラブのユニで記念撮影
