イングランドやユナイテッドのエースとして活躍していたルーニー監督

かつてはイングランド代表のエースとして活躍し、現在はバーミンガム・シティの指揮を執るウェイン・ルーニー監督が、若い頃のアルコール依存を告白した。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。

16歳でエバートンでデビューし、鮮烈なゴールを決めるなど一躍スターダムを駆け上がったルーニー監督。マンチェスター・ユナイテッドでもエースとして活躍すると歴代最多得点を記録。イングランド代表でも53ゴールを決めるなど、エースに君臨した。

今シーズン途中からMF三好康児が所属するバーミンガムの監督に就任したルーニー監督。『BBC』のポッドキャスト「Seven: Rob Burrow」で、過去のアルコール依存を告白した。

「20代前半の時、私はアルコールを飲んで解放された。気を失いそうになるまで飲んでいた」

フォレストMFルイス・オブライエンがMLSへ半年レンタル… ルーニー指揮のDCユナイテッド
