MLSで監督に不適切発言疑い…元アメリカ代表のアリーナ監督が休職処分

リオネル・メッシが参戦したことで話題を集めているメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)だが、監督が不適切発言で職務停止となった。

問題が起きているのはニューイングランド・レボリューション。ブルース・アリーナ監督に問題発言があったという。

クラブは声明を発表。リーグの調査が終わるまで、監督が休職すると発表した。

「当クラブは職場における不正行為のいかなる疑惑も、極めて深刻に受けてとめている」

「ニューイングランド・レボリューションは、無神経で不適切な発言に関する疑惑について、MLSが調査を進めているため、アリーナ監督を休職処分とした」

「リーグと緊密に協力し、調査に全面的に協力している」

アリーナ監督は、アメリカ代表の監督を2度務めた他、DCユナイテッドやニューヨーク・レッドブルズ、ロサンゼルス・ギャラクシーなどで指揮。2019年5月からニューイングランド・レボリューションの監督とスポーツ・ディレクター(SD)に就任していた。

なお、今シーズンのMLSでは23試合を終え、イースタン・カンファレンスで2位につけていた。

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

VARとの戦いが見たかった“駆け引き”に生きた生粋のゴールハンター、フィリッポ・インザーギ

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!
