ロシアW杯出場を逃したアメリカ代表のアリーナ監督が辞任

▽ロシア・ワールドカップの切符を最終節で手放してしまったアメリカ代表のブルース・アリーナ監督が辞任した。アメリカサッカー連盟(USSF)が13日に発表した。

▽アリーナ監督は、2016年11月にユルゲン・クリンスマン前監督の解任に伴い、2度目のアメリカ代表監督に就任。当時は、メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のロサンゼルス・ギャラクシーの監督を務めていた。

▽クリンスマン前監督の下、ロシア・ワールドカップ北中米カリブ海予選で連敗スタートを切ったことで監督交代となったが、最終節でトリニダード・トバゴ代表に敗戦。パナマ代表に逆転を許し、大陸間プレーオフ圏からも外れ、予選敗退となっていた。

▽アリーナ監督は、前回指揮をしていた際に2005年のゴールド・カップを制覇。2017年のゴールド・カップも制していたが、最も大事なワールドカップ出場権を逃してしまった。
