28日に行われた国際親善試合でベルギー代表と対戦したドイツは、開始9分で2点をリードされる厳しい展開に。43分に得たPKをFWニクラス・フュルクルクが決めて1点を返したが、再びベルギーにボールを握られると78分には守備を崩されて再び失点。87分にFWセルジュ・ニャブリにゴールが生まれるも追いつくまでには至らず、2-3で敗れた。

強豪国対決で敗れたフリック監督は試合後に消極的なパフォーマンスだったと認めつつ、選手たちは正しい反応を見せていたとも強調している。
「前半30分までの我々はあまりにも消極的であり、受け身になり過ぎていた。相手にプレッシャーを与えられず、ベルギーの容赦ない攻撃を受けたと思う。その後は、いくつかの選手を変更したこともあり少し安定感を得られた」

「チームは情熱を持ってプレーし始めたと思う。30分を過ぎてからは、より適切に相手へプレッシャーをかけようとしていただろう。それは、ベルギーがそれまでより多くのミスをしていた点からも明らかだ」

18歳の若さでこの世を去ったバラック氏の次男に、パートナーが哀悼のメッセージ

日本はスペイン&ドイツと同居、初戦はドイツ戦《カタールW杯》

「全くもってプロではなかった」浅野拓磨を見下した?リュディガーのステップをドイツ代表のレジェンドも問題視「相手を軽んじてはいけない」
