低迷ビラでジェラード解任論調高まる…ファンは怒り心頭

アストン・ビラでスティーブン・ジェラード監督の解任を望む声が日に日に大きくなっているようだ。

プレミアリーグ開幕4試合で1勝3敗と低調のビラ。直近のウェストハム戦は、スタッツでは優勢だったものの、得点力不足が露呈し、後半の失点で敗戦した。

昨年11月に前任のディーン・スミスに代わって就任したジェラード監督は、レンジャーズをリーグ優勝に導いた実績から期待されていたものの、昨シーズンは一時5連敗を喫するなど、チームを立て直すには至らなかった。

その中で迎えた今季は、今冬の加入から輝きを放ったフィリペ・コウチーニョを買い取り、実力者ジエゴ・カルロスやビッグクラブも関心を寄せたブバカル・カマラを獲得するなど経営陣のバックアップも受けたが、ここまでは結果に伴っていない。

すでに沸点に達しているサポーターは少なくないようで、イギリス『デイリー・メール』によれば、SNS上で解任を望む投稿が相次いでいるとのこと。「ジェラードの問題は得意なスタイルを持っていなかったり、好調な選手ではなく好みの選手を頑なに使い続けたりするところにある」と、42歳指揮官の采配に具体的な疑念を抱く者もいるようだ。

ビラは今後、アーセナル戦、マンチェスター・シティ戦とビッグクラブとの試合が続く。果たしてジェラード監督は汚名返上となる成績を残すことはできるだろうか。

「寄せすぎ」「コピーだ」アストン・ビラの新エンブレムがチェルシーに酷似?実は過去のデザインを踏襲したもの
