レアル・マドリーは12日、元ブラジル代表DFマルセロ(34)の退団を正式発表した。

マルセロは2007年1月に母国クラブのフルミネンセからレアル・マドリー入りし、16シーズンで公式戦545試合に出場数。近年は序列を下げ、チームがラ・リーガとチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)の2冠に輝いた今季も公式戦17試合の出場に終わったが、クラブ史上最多となる通算25個のタイトルを獲得した。

かつてチームメイトだったポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドとの黄金コンビとしても、いち時期のチームをリードしたブラジル人左サイドバックだが、今季が契約最終年。自身5つ目のビッグイヤー獲得後に今季をもって退団を明言したが、このたび、クラブもその旨を正式にアナウンスした。

クラブによると、13日に退団セレモニーを実施。フロレンティーノ・ペレス会長も出席する。
