2016年にアルゼンチン屈指の名門リーベルの下部組織に加入したアルバレス。2018年10月にトップチームデビューを飾ると、ここまで公式戦85試合に出場し、23ゴール21アシストを記録。
とりわけ、今シーズンはここまでリーグ戦7ゴール4アシストと序盤から多くの得点に関与し、今月3日に行われたボカ・ジュニアーズとのスーペル・クラシコではチームを2-1の勝利に導く2ゴールを挙げ、国内の話題を集めていた。
右ウイングとセンターフォワードを主戦場とする170cmの小兵アタッカーは、卓越したアジリティと足元の技術を併せ持ち、ここ最近では決定力にも磨きをかけて万能型ストライカーとして覚醒の気配を漂わす。
将来的にFWセルヒオ・アグエロやFWラウタロ・マルティネスの系譜を受け継ぐ点取り屋としての飛躍が期待されている逸材FWは、今年6月にデビューを飾ったアルゼンチン代表でも台頭が待たれるところだ。
現時点でヨーロッパ挑戦のタイミングは来夏以降が見込まれているが、今後もリーベルで印象的なパフォーマンスを継続すれば、今冬のタイミングでの移籍も十分にありそうだ。

現時点でヨーロッパ挑戦のタイミングは来夏以降が見込まれているが、今後もリーベルで印象的なパフォーマンスを継続すれば、今冬のタイミングでの移籍も十分にありそうだ。

ガゴ、2年前のコパ・リベルタドーレス決勝の事件を振り返る「サッカー史で最も不愉快だった事件のひとつ」
元ボカ・ジュニアーズのMFフェルナンド・ガゴが、異例の事態となった2018年のコパ・リベルタドーレス決勝を振り返った。 その年の決勝戦は、リーベル・プレートとボカ・ジュニアーズによる大会史上初の“スーペル・クラシコ”だった。世界でも指折りの激しいダービマッチは、決勝の舞台ということもありサポーターの熱は普段の何倍にも増していた。 しかしその熱があらぬ方向に向かってしまい、セカンドレグの試合前にボカ・ジュニアーズの選手らを乗せたバスがリーベル・プレートの過激派サポーターの襲撃を受け、数名の選手が体調不良を訴える事態となった。 そして、安全面を考慮した結果、セカンドレグはレアル・マドリーの本拠地サンティアゴ・ベルナベウで行われることに。当試合は4000人もの警備隊が出動する厳戒態勢で行われた。 ガゴはバス襲撃の際にケガを負ってしまった選手の1人。バス内に投げつけられた化学物質によってアレルギーに侵され、炎症を抑えるためコルチコステロイドによる治療を強いられることになった。だが、コルチコステロイドはドーピング検査で陽性を引き起こす可能性のある医療薬で、スポーツ界では使用が禁止または制限されている。 それでもガゴは『Fox Sport』のインタビューで「生きることを選んだ」とコメント。そして、この事件がサッカー界で最も凄惨な事件のひとつだったと当時を振り返った。 「僕の身に起こったことは、サッカー史で最も深刻な事件に数えられる。間違いなくね」 「本当にクレイジーだった。あんな事が起こるなんて誰が予想できる? 僕たちは社会的に大切なことをあの事件から学ばなければならない」 なお、セカンドレグに出場したガゴの奮闘も虚しく、ボカは破れリーベル・プレートがその年の南米王者に輝いた。その後、同選手は右アキレス腱裂傷の重傷を負い、治療に専念するためボカとの契約を解除。昨年7月に母国のベレス・サルスフィエルドに入団した。 2020.05.05 16:15 Tue

シティがアルバレス加入を正式発表! 背番号は19番に決定

フィオレンティーナ、新9番のアルゼンチン人FWベルトランを獲得
