アメリカ合衆国サッカー連盟(USSF)は6日、ユベントスのMFFウェストン・マッケニーを代表チームから離脱させたことを発表した。
アメリカはカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)北中米カリブ海予選に参加。8日には9月で予選3試合目となるホンジュラス代表戦を控えている。
そんな中、マッケニーが代表チームを離脱。アウェイでのホンジュラス戦に帯同させないことが発表された。
マッケニーは。5日に行われたカナダ代表戦にも不在。なんと、新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)のプロトコルに違反したことが理由だった。
マッケニーは自身のインスタグラムのストーリーズにて、今回の件を報告。自身の行動を謝罪した。
「自身の行動を謝罪します。今夜は選手たちを応援し、すぐにチームに戻りたいと思います」
しかし、アメリカ代表のクレッグ・バーハルター監督は、「ウェストンはイタリアに戻る。チームの方針に違反したため、ホンジュラスとの試合に出場できなくなる」とコメント。「成功するためには、グループ全員が責任を負うことが重要だ」と、マッケニーの軽率な行動を非難した。
そのマッケニーは、今年4月にはユベントスのプロトコルに違反。アルゼンチン代表FWパウロ・ディバラやブラジル代表MFアルトゥールらとともに自宅でパーティを行い、アンドレア・ピルロ監督から出場停止を受けていた。

1週間で負傷者20名超え…重傷者も多数生む「FIFAウイルス」に対しUEFAが改革に乗り出す

ユベントスのドウグラス・ルイス獲得が停滞 原因はマッケニーとビラの交渉難航にあり?

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!

アメリカが最終節で予選敗退…パナマ初のW杯切符でホンジュラスがプレーオフへ《W杯北中米カリブ海予選》

ブラジル女子代表スンドハーゲ監督が退任…アメリカ率いて2度の五輪金も2023女子W杯はGS敗退
ブラジルサッカー連盟(CBF)は30日、ブラジル女子代表ピア・スンドハーゲ監督(63)の退任を発表した。 現役時代は母国スウェーデンのクラブを中心にプレーし、代表でも1991年、1995年の女子W杯で主将を務めるなど中心選手として活躍したスンドハーゲ氏。それ以上に目を惹くのは指導者時代の栄光だ。 クラブチームでの監督を経て2008年に就任したアメリカ女子代表では、同年の北京オリンピックで金メダルを獲得。2011年ドイツ女子ワールドカップ(W杯)決勝ではなでしこジャパンに敗れ、準優勝に終わったものの、2012年のロンドンオリンピック決勝ではリベンジを達成。アメリカに2大会連続の金メダルをもたらし、FIFA女子最優秀監督賞を受賞した。 ロンドン五輪後にはスウェーデン女子代表監督を務め、ブラジル女子の監督には2019年7月に就任。若手とベテランの融合を図り、個人技に偏りがちだった"カナリーニャス"に組織的な戦術を植え付けたが、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子W杯では、残念ながらグループステージ敗退に終わっていた。 CBFのエドナルド・ロドリゲス会長は、「今日を持ってピアのCBFでの仕事は終了した。彼女と、2023FIFA女子ワールドカップに参加したブラジル女子サッカーチームの技術委員会すべての人々に感謝したい。ピアは2019年から現在までの間、CBFにとって、そしてブラジルサッカー全体にとって非常に重要なものをもたらしてくれた。彼女の新たな挑戦における成功を祈っている」と、述べている。 新監督については近日中に新たな技術委員会を立てて発表する予定。2024年のパリオリンピックや次回の女子W杯を見据えたサイクルを開始するとのことだ。 2023.08.31 21:53 Thu

18歳の逸材WGユヌス・ムサがアメリカ代表を選択!
バレンシアに所属するFWユヌス・ムサ(18)は、アメリカ代表で戦うことを正式に決断したようだ。アメリカ合衆国サッカー連盟(USSF)が15日に公式サイトで発表した。 アーセナルの下部組織出身のユヌス・ムサは、2019年の夏にバレンシアに加入。リザーブチームでのプレーを経て、今シーズンからトップチームに昇格すると、FWフェラン・トーレスの抜けた右ウイングでレギュラーを掴み、ここまでラ・リーガ24試合に出場。第8節のヘタフェ戦ではプロ初ゴールを決めていた。 2002年11月29日にガーナ人の両親を持つユヌス・ムサは、ニューヨークで生を受けたが、イタリアのジョルジョーネ・カルチョの下部組織に入団するために渡伊。その後、2012年夏にアーセナルの下部組織に移籍すると、2019年夏にバレンシアに加入するまで7年間イングランドで過ごした。 そのためアメリカのほかにガーナ代表、イタリア代表、イングランド代表でプレーする権利も持っており、アンダー世代の代表ではイングランド代表に呼ばれることが主だったが、2020年11月に行われた国際親善試合のウェールズ代表戦でアメリカ代表デビューを飾っており、どのA代表を選ぶかが注目されていた。 そんな中、USSFは公式サイトで｢イングランド、ガーナ、イタリア、アメリカの代表資格を持つユヌス・ムサは、アメリカ代表として国際大会に出場することを選択した｣との声明を発表。 また、ユヌス・ムサ本人も｢僕がアメリカ代表を選択したことは難しいことではなかった。自分の生まれた国を代表することが一番正しい選択だと思ったんだ｣と理由を説明している。 2021.03.16 01:30 Tue
