ユベントスに所属するアメリカ代表MFウェストン・マッケニーが懲りずにプロトコル違反を犯した。

マッケニーはアメリカ代表としてカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)北中米カリブ海予選に参加。5日にカナダ代表との試合を控えていた。

試合は1-1で引き分けに終わったが、この試合にマッケニーの姿はなし。その理由は、新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)のプロトコルに違反したためだという。

マッケニーは自身のインスタグラムのストーリーズにて、今回の件を報告。自身の行動を謝罪した。

「残念ながらチームのCOVIDプロトコルに違反したため、今夜の試合は出場停止となりました」

「自身の行動を謝罪します。今夜は選手たちを応援し、すぐにチームに戻りたいと思います」

アメリカ代表のクレッグ・バーハルター監督は、マッケニーに関して、8日に行われるホンジュラス代表との試合でも起用するかは決めていないとコメント。「それはまだ分からない」とするにとどめていた。

マッケニーは、今年4月にはユベントスのプロトコルに違反。アルゼンチン代表FWパウロ・ディバラやブラジル代表MFアルトゥールらとともに自宅でパーティを行い、アンドレア・ピルロ監督から出場停止を受けていた。

「壮大で記憶に残る」ナイキのPVでムバッペvsロナウジーニョが実現!豪炎寺修也も登場で海外ファン歓喜
