マンチェスター・シティのイングランド代表FWラヒーム・スターリングが人種差別被害を受けた。
イングランドのサッカー界は、選手やクラブが4日間にわたりソーシャルメディアの利用をボイコット。何ひとつ更新されない期間を設け、オンライン上での虐待行動への反対運動を起こしていた。
また、このボイコットにはラグビー・ユニオンやクリケットなどのスポーツも参加。スポーツ界が一丸となって、反対運動を起こしていた。
しかし、それが終わって2日、スターリングはインスタグラムにて人種差別的なメッセージを受けていた。
インスタグラムを所有するFacebookのスポークスマンはこの件についてコメントしている。
「この問題は一朝一夕に解決できるものではありませんが、我々はコミュニティを悪用から守るためにできることをしていきます」
すでに、ストーク・シティに所属するウェールズ代表FWラビ・マトンドが同様の被害を受けており、Facebookは人種差別メッセージを送ったアカウントを即削除していた。

シティDFラポルテが同僚の“タトゥー” を品定め、エデルソンは「多いけど、かっこよくはない」
