アストン・ビラのイングランド代表DFタイロン・ミングスが、人種差別的な虐待を受けたことを明かした。

ヨーロッパで永遠に続く人種差別の被害。特にイングランドでは、ソーシャルメディアを通じて選手に対して人種差別を行うことが横行しており、多くの選手が被害に遭っている。

試合前に行う反人種差別のためのヒザつき行為も、意味を感じなくなりやらなくなる選手も出てくるほど、人種差別を訴えてもなくならないのが現状だ。

そんな中、ミングスはインスタグラムを通じて人種差別的なメッセージを受け取ったことを自身のツイッターで明かした。

「フィルターのないソーシャルメディアの人生における別の日。僕たちを気の毒に思ってはいけない」

「変化のために戦い、並んでください。ソーシャルメディアはフィルターなしでは安全にならない」

ミングスへメッセージを送ったアカウントはすでに停止されている状況とのことだ。

また、アストン・ビラもこの件に関して声明を発表している。

「今日の早い時間、タイロンはソーシャルメディアアカウントで忌まわしく下品なプライベートメッセージを受け取りました」

「我々はあらゆる形態の人種差別を非難し、人種差別との戦いの最前線にいる印象を与える人物であるタイロンと肩を並べて建ち続けます」

「クラブは、プレミアリーグ、サッカー当局、ソーシャルメディアプラットフォームと緊密に連携し、この不名誉なオンライン上での行動に取り組んでいきます」

最近ではリバプールのDFトレント・アレクサンダー=アーノルドやMFナビ・ケイタ、FWサディオ・マネがチャンピオンズリーグのレアル・マドリー戦で敗れた後に人種差別メッセージを受信していた。
